The Dent County Commissioners met Thursday morning for their regular meeting in the Dent County Courthouse. In the road report District One Commissioner Dennis Purcell said that grading would be done on Dent County Roads 5630, 5650, 6480, 6485, 6303 and 6305. He said grading would be done on county roads 5170 and 5015 if the grader that is throwing a code is approved by the tech people to be operated without clearing the code, which would require on site service by the company. Purcell stated that if the grader could not be operated that operator, along with another man, would be hauling brown rock. He went on to say that brush would be cut on county roads 6280 and 6285. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson said that grading would be done on Dent County Roads 3180, 4330 and 2120, plus materials would be hauled to county road 2120. Larson said that on Tuesday he attended the Meramec Region Solid Waste Management dinner in St. James. He said that a major issue discussed was tire dumping and disposal. He said that he was supplied statistics indicating the nationwide litter cleanup costs to be an estimated $11.5 billon dollars each year.
