The Salem Police Department released reports involving property damage, traffic violations, an a probation violation. On Sunday, October 30th at 9:43 in the morning, an officer was detailed to the 600 block of South Hickory in reference to property damage. The report revealed someone unknown cut the tires valued at $550.00 on a red 2000 Ford truck that was parked near a residence. At 11:04 that morning, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The stop led to the arrest of a 30-year old male of Salem for possession of methamphetamine. He was incarcerated pending the application for a warrant. That same afternoon at 1:15, an officer located a 24-year old female of Salem in the 900 block of East Fourth who had an active arrest warrant from the State of Missouri Probation and Parole. She was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending a court appearance. At 1:34 that same afternoon, an officer was sent to a residence in the 300 block of West Gibbs in reference to property damage. The report revealed someone unknown cut tires valued at $550.00 on two separate vehicles parked in the area. That same night at 10:33, an officer located a 34-year old man and a 31-year old man, both of Salem, in the 700 block of North Pershing who had numerous outstanding arrest warrants from Dent County. Both were taken into custody on the warrants and released to Dent County Sheriffs Department for incarceration. On Monday morning, October 31st at 8:55, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 500 block of East Ninth in reference to property damage. The report revealed someone unknown broke the glass window in a door of a residence valued at $30.00. Then at 9:41 that same morning, an officer transported a 30-year old female of Salem to the Royal Oaks Mental Facility in Windsor, Missouri in lieu of a mental commitment order. Later that day at 5:07, an officer took a 24-year old male of Salem into custody at 103 West Fourth Street for violating his terms of probation. He was incarcerated for a 10 day shock time. An accident occurred at 3:15 Tuesday afternoon in Franklin County on Highway 100 east of Oak View Estates Court. According to the highway patrol report, a 2002 Mercury Sable driven by 21-year old Jeramy Rulo of Steelville was traveling too fast for road conditions and lost control of the Mercury Sable on highway 100. The Mercury traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Rulo suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington by the Meramec ambulance. He was wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Mercury Sable sustained extensive damage and was towed by Johns Towing.

An accident occurred at 9:41 Monday night in Phelps County on Highway 68 less than a mile west of Highway YY. According to the highway patrol report, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 20-year old Lucy Hutchinson of Salem was traveling eastbound and lost control of the Malibu. The Malibu then traveled off the east side of the roadway and overturned. Hutchinson suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Salem Memorial District Hospital by personal vehicle. She was wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Chevrolet Malibu was totaled and removed from the scene by Whitaker’s Towing of Salem.

Artemi Panarin scored 25 seconds into overtime and Corey Crawford made 27 saves, leading the Chicago Blackhawks over the St. Louis Blues 2-1 on Wednesday night for their seventh straight win. Crawford won his sixth consecutive game and got his third shutout this season. The St. Louis Blues will be in Nashville tonight to face the Predators tonight starting at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.

The Salem Tigers Fall Sports Banquet will be held this evening at 6:30 at the high school cafeteria. The banquet will spotlight players from the Cross Country Teams, Girls Softball Team, Girls Volleyball Team and the Boys Football team.

The Salem Tiger Basketball Blue/White Night will be held this Friday, November 11th at the Salem R-80 Upper Elementary gym from 5:00 to 7:00. Come out and get a sneak preview of the upcoming women’s and men’s teams for freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. Admission to the Blue/White Night will be $1.00 and all admissions will be donated directly to the Strebe family. The Benchwarmers Booster Club is also sponsoring a Chili Supper from 5:00 to 7:00.

Funeral services for Danny E. Hunter of Salem, age 64, will be held this morning at 11:00 at the James and Gahr Chapel in Salem. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Green Forest Cemetery.

Funeral services for James Lester Schafer of Salem, age 74, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Green Forest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Green Forest Cemetery.

Funeral services for William W. Aaron Sr. of Rolla, age 94, will be held Saturday at 11:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Roach Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
