He went on to say that a crew was repairing a rear tire on the backhoe and when that repair was completed, they would be installing crossover pipes on Dent County Road 5610 and at the junction of county roads 5610 and 5620, plus patching some chip and seal on 5610. Purcell said that he attended a Tourism Committee meeting Monday where three proposals were approved and two completed projects were approved for reimbursement. He added that Tuesday evening he attended the 21 member South Central Community Action Board meeting where he nominated Doug Walter for president of the Board and Walter was elected. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson said his district

received rainfall in excess of 4 inches so his crews were also checking for washouts and downed trees and would be adding materials where needed. He added that truck #115 had a flat tire that was being repaired and that Dent County’s end of Public Lane 401 was being “opened up.” Dent County’s portion is a county road and will be receiving a road number, plus that information will be given to Dent County Rural Addressing. The annual by –law review was tabled until November and Lucas said he has spoken with all the county commissions about eliminating the voting districts. Many commissions wanted to visit with constituents in those districts to see if they had any reservations about it becoming an at-large vote. Lucas said he and Hospital Attorney Mark Weaver are preparing a resolution for the commissions to use if they want to eliminate the voting districts. He went on to say with the increase in patient demand in the Rehab Department, the hospital has elected to move them in to Physicians Office Building Two on October 24th and 25th from Physicians Office Building One.
