The Dent County Sheriffs Office has released some reports. On Wednesday, September 28th, Dent County Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the 1900 block of County Road 5225. Upon arrival, they discovered a back door to the residence broken into and a Browning Rage compound bow missing. On Thursday, September 29th, deputies were called to the 700 block of County Road 3220 for a report of an aggressive dog. The owner of the dog, 36-year old Ranauta Register of Salem, was discovered to have an active warrant out of Phelps County for Failure to Appear on a no insurance ticket. She was arrested and transported to the Dent County Jail and was incarcerated. Register was also issued a summons for Animal Abuse. On Friday, September 30th, Dent County Deputies took a report of a firearm that was stolen from a truck. The pistol taken is described as a Springfield XDS 9mm. On October 1st, deputies discovered an inmate had secreted several items into the jail that are considered contraband. Charges are being sought for three counts of possession of contraband at county jail against 40-year old Danny Perkins from Salem. On Saturday, October 8th, deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of County Road 5050. While investigating the dispute, it was discovered that the female involved had warrants for her arrest. Arrested was 30-year old Alicia Garis of Salem on a Salem Police Department warrant for stealing and a Bonner County, Idaho warrant for a Probation and Parole violation. She was taken to the Dent County Jail and incarcerated. Also on the 8th, deputies observed a vehicle that failed to stop at a red traffic signal. Dent County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and while making contact with the occupants, an odor of marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. As the result of the investigation, 19-year old Brandon T. Fraley of Salem, was arrested for possession of 35 grams or less or marijuana, the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, driving while being intoxicated with Zero Tolerance, and the failure to stop at a red traffic signal. Fraley was transported to the Dent County Sheriff's Office, finger printed and released on summons to appear in court.

Experience Works is looking to hire individuals 55 and older in Dent County through their Senior Community Service Employment Program. If you are unemployed; have low-income, are eligible to work in the United States and are 55 years of age or older, then Experience Works is looking for you. When an older worker signs up with Experience Works, the program places them with a non-profit or public partner for on-the job training and experience. The workers earn minimum wage, paid by Experience Works through a grant from the federal government, while developing new skills in areas ranging from data entry to custodial work. The Salem Police Department released reports involving a domestic disturbance, theft and property damage. On Friday, September 30th at 1:15 in the early morning, an officer received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of North Pershing. The report revealed a 26-year old Salem male had assaulted a 30-year old Salem female and held her in a residence against her will. Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect for domestic assault and felonious restraint. He was incarcerated pending the application for warrants. On Sunday, October 2nd at 1:31 in the early morning, an officer was detailed to the Fifth Street Pub in reference a theft. The report revealed that a person or persons unknown stole a cell phone valued at $250. That same morning at 2:30, an officer located a 22-year old Bunker male at the Mobil service station who had an active fugitive arrest warrant from Newton County, Missouri. He was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending extradition. Then at 7:30 that same morning, an officer located a 29-year old Salem female at a residence in the 800 block of West Rolla Road who had an active fugitive arrest warrant from Missouri Probation and Parole. She was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending a court appearance. Later that evening at 6:55, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 100 block of North Pershing in reference to property damage. The report revealed that a person or persons unknown caused damage to a 2000 Peterbuilt tractor valued at $700.00. On Saturday, October 8th the Salem Marching Blue participated in the US Bands Southwest Regional Marching Festival at the Branson High School in Branson, Missouri. The band captured First Place in Class II and won caption awards for Best General Effect, Best Visual, and Best Music. Their success in the preliminary round of competition earned them a spot in the finals round where they performed a second time against bands from Class I through Class VI schools. The Salem Marching Blue finished with a ranking of 10th place out of the 22 participating schools. The band will finish its 2016 field competition season on October 15th at 10:15 a.m. when they perform at the Reeds Springs Marching Festival..

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will be at Willow Springs for their final regular season game tonight. The JV action will begin at 6:00 with the varsity match to follow. The Salem varsity is 1-5 in the SCA Conference and is 5-21-1 on the season.

The Volleyball Districts will be held this year at the Sullivan High School starting Monday, October 17th. The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers are seeded 7th in Class 3, District 9 and they will play at 6:15 on October 17th against St. Clair. The winner of that match will face the winner of the Sullivan/St. James contest Tuesday night at 6:15 at Sullivan. The cost of admission is $5.00 for anyone six years of age and older.

A Funeral Mass for Herbert T. Rosario of Rolla, age 90, will be held this morning at 11:00 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville. All arrangements are under the direction of the Rolla Chapel of James and Gahr Mortuary.

Funeral services for Koradine Rhinehart of Rolla, age 87, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 at the St. James Chapel of James and Gahr Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until service time Wednesday. Interment will be in the Asher Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Asher Cemetery.

Funeral services for Loraine Anderson of Salem, age 84, will be held Thursday at 1:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 12:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Funeral services for Jennifer Lynn (Adamick) Snider of Pleasant Hope, formerly of Salem, age 42, will be held Friday at 10:00 am at the Green Lawn North Funeral Home in Springfield, MO. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 t0 8:00 at the Green Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
