The St. Louis County Police Department has issued an update on the Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred at 2300 block of Forest Leaf Parkway in Wildwood, MO. Missing is Daniel D. Lambert, a 43-year old white, male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, blonde hair and blue eyes. On the Sunday evening, a truck matching the description of Lambert's truck was located at a campsite in Mark Twain National Forest. An extensive search effort was coordinated by the Washington County Sheriff's Office beginning Sunday evening and continuing all day Monday and the majority of Tuesday. Lambert was not located during this search. KSMO is putting out this alert as Lambert left a suicide note and a map of the Mark Twain National Forest for Crawford and Washington counties at his residence and has not been heard from since. Anyone seeing Lambert, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 9-1-1 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the St. Louis County Police Dept. at 636-529-8225.

The Dent County Sheriff’s Office released a report. On Saturday, September 12th at approximately 2:02 in the early morning hours, a victim contacted Rolla Central Dispatch via 9-1-1 alleging that she had been assaulted and robbed at the intersection of Dent County Road 6420 and Route E. The call was given to the Dent County Sheriff’s Office and deputies responded. Deputies arrived a short time later and discovered the victim of a strong-armed robbery. After a short investigation, three people were arrested in connection with the robbery. They are 35-year old Donna Giller of Licking, who is currently being held in the Dent County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond; 17-year old Brooke Backues of Licking, who was released pending a warrant application; and 44-year old Michael Sullins of Licking, who is also currently being held in the Dent County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond. Justin Giller of Licking is also wanted in connection with the robbery and at this time Giller has not yet been located. Anyone with any information regarding the strong-armed robbery is asked to contact the Dent County Sheriff's Office at 729-3241.

The Salem R-80 Board of Education will conduct their September meeting tonight at 6:00 at the district administrative boardroom. After approval of the agenda and communications, Superintendent John McColloch will update the Board with facility and budget updates as well as the State Assessment results. Principals from William Lynch, the Upper Elementary, the Middle School and the Senior High will address the Board with happenings at each of the buildings. In new business the Board will approve bus routes and a Special Education Compliance Plan. The Board will then vote to go into closed session for the purpose of addressing personnel. The September meeting of the Salem R-80 Board of Education is open to the public.

An accident occurred at 7:02 Wednesday morning in Texas County on Highway 17 about seven miles north of Houston. According to the highway patrol report, a 2004 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 18-year old Leanna Schaffer of Houston was traveling southbound on highway 17. The Chevrolet Cobalt drifted across the centerline of the roadway. Schaffer then overcorrected and caused the Chevrolet Cobalt to strike a fence and a tree. Schaffer and a passenger 17-year old Quentin Benson of Licking both suffered minor injuries and were transported by a private vehicle to the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. Everyone involved was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. The Chevrolet Cobalt sustained extensive damage and was towed by Jay’s Automotive of Houston.

There is good news for older Missourians needing help to reenter the workforce in Dent County. A local non-profit has openings in a program that offers training and other services as a stepping-stone to employment. The Experience Works Missouri state office, a national non-profit organization, operates the Department of Labor’s Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) in 102 Missouri counties. The program provides paid community service assignments at local and public non-profit organizations It also provides free training, referral to needed services, and job search assistance. The program is available to people age 55 and older who are unemployed and meet other criteria. Salem traveled to Houston for its second conference game of the season on Wednesday and improved to 2-0 in SCA play with a 10-1 win. The Lady Tigers would fall behind 1-0 after one inning of play, but scored in each of its next four at-bats to build a comfortable lead en route to the victory. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Steelville to face the Lady Cardinals in non-conference play beginning at 4:30.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to Mountain View Tuesday in back to back to games by the scores of 11-25 and 4-25. The Lady Tigers will be at Mountain Grove tonight starting at 6:00 for SCA Play.

Tommy Pham homered twice and tripled, Matt Carpenter added a solo shot and Jaime Garcia went 6 1-3 innings to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night. Matt Carpenter led off the third with his 22nd home run and 74th RBI of the season, both team highs. The Cardinals will finish up their series with Milwaukee tonight at 7:10 on KSMO Radio.

Francisco Lindor was 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs, and also made an outstanding defensive play at shortstop to help the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 5-1 Wednesday night. The Royals play Cleveland tonight at 6:10.

Funeral services for Drusilla Adeline (Fowler) Gray of Salem, age 73, will be held this morning at 10:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Green Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Green Forest Cemetery.

Funeral services for Willard Wesley Pyatt of Salem, age 81, will be held Friday at 11:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be tonight from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Carty Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Carty Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Graveside service for Ms. Ann McCallum of Success, age 79, will be Saturday morning at 11:00 at Concord Cemetery north of Licking on Route C. All arrangements are under direction of the Fox Funeral Home, Licking, MO.  

Funeral services for Edith F. Roper of Licking, age 98, will be held Sunday at 2:00 at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah Witness in Licking. Visitation will be at 1:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Licking City Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of  the James & Gahr Mortuary of Salem.
