The Dent County Sheriff's Department has released some reports. On Sunday, May 8th, Dent County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 32 and Dent County Road 5020. As a result of the stop, 32-year old Christopher Roberts of Salem was arrested for driving while having his license revoked. Roberts was issued a summons to appear in court and was released. Then on Wednesday, May 11th, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 19 and Highway 68. As a result of the stop, both the driver and the passenger were arrested for outstanding warrants. David Gipson of Salem was arrested for failure to appear on a Hindering Prosecution charge and Lori Gipson of Salem was arrested for failure to appear on a traffic violation. The Gipsons were incarcerated in the Dent County Jail. On Thursday, May 12th at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon, Stephanie Shook-Sheets was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The capias warrant was for a failure to appear on a Possession of a Controlled Substance case. Shook-Sheets was incarcerated at the Dent County jail without incident. On Thursday, May 19th at about 7:00 in the evening, deputies with the Dent County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle in the 5000 Block of West Highway 32 for speeding. The driver, William Keller, did not possess a valid driver's license. A consent to search was conducted which led to the arrest of a passenger, Dawn Sikes, for possession of a controlled substance. Keller was issued summonses for operating a motor vehicle upon the highway without a valid license, exceeding the posted speed limit by 16 -19 miles per hour and failure to secure a child less than eight years old in a restraint or booster seat. He was then released. Sikes was incarcerated at the Dent County Sheriff's Office jail on a 24 hour hold pending the issuance of warrants. Also on Thursday, May 19th at about 4:30 in the afternoon, deputies arrested Karen Baca on a capias warrant for failure to obey a judge's order on an original case of possession of a controlled substance. Baca was arrested without incident and incarcerated at the Dent County Jail. On Friday, May 20th, deputies with the Dent County Sheriff's Office and officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were attempting to secure a residence for a search warrant in the 4400 block of Dent County Road 2050. Upon arrival, two male subjects fled out the back of the residence. The Dent County K9 unit was deployed in an attempt to locate the subjects. After a short track by the K9 unit, William Cameron Jr, of Rolla was located by the K9 team hiding in a heavily wooded area south of the residence. Cameron was later incarcerated in the Dent County Jail.

The Industrial Development authority of The County of Dent will conduct a meeting tonight at the Bank of Salem Courtesy Room located at 4th and Main Streets beginning at 6:00 PM. After approval of the agenda that includes the minutes from the prior meetings and the payment of bills, they will review financial statements for the period ending April 30, 2016. There will be a report of Board members for re-appointment effective April 30, 2016 that included Donald Dodd, Dean Jones, Steve Conway and Camron Erway. The County Assessor Tina Whitaker will then request a discussion on real estate tax assessment on buildings that are subject to a short term lease as the status of lease proposal was approved by the Board at the February meeting. The Board will address any other business that comes before them and the meeting will then be adjourned, unless the need for a closed session arises.

The Salem Police Department released their reports involving property damage, a disturbance, an attempted assault. On Sunday, May 15th at 8:46 in the morning, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 500 block of South Pershing in reference to property damage. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown broke the driver side rear glass out of a red 2002 Ford Windstar van valued at $300.00. The report is under investigation. That night at 9:01, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 100 block of Brady Lane in reference to a disturbance. That investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year old male of Cuba for disorderly conduct.  He was issued a summons to appear in court and was released. That same night at 9:29, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of East Fourth in reference to a male attempting to assault another male. The investigation of the report revealed a 47-year old male of Salem was attempting to assault a 45-year old male of Salem with a large tree branch. Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect for 2nd degree assault. He was incarcerated pending a warrant application. The Salem Tigers Basketball is hosting their 1st Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 6th at the Spring Creek Country Club, located at 99 Dent County Road 3220 in Salem. Registration is at 8:00 AM with the Shot Gun Start at 8:30 AM and lunch will follow the tournament at the Country Club. The cost is $160 per team, 4 person scramble. There will be green fees, an a limited number of riding carts available for a $20 rental fee. Hole sponsor fee is $100 and there will be individual and team prizes. Mulligans are available @$5 per-limit 2 per person, 8 per team. All teams must pre-register by e-mailing Coach Conrad Prugh at conradprugh@gmail.com or for questions call 247-3113. Proceeds go to benefit Salem Tigers Basketball Program.

Eight unearned runs proved to be the difference as Jeff City Helias beat the Salem Tigers, 12-4 Tuesday in Sectional play. Eli Floyd had two hits for Salem who committed four errors in the game. Salem finished the year with a 14-12 record and the Class 4, District 9 Champs!

The St. Louis Blues season is on the line tonight as they will be in San Jose to face the Sharks in Game 6 of their best-of-seven series. San Jose leads the series, 3 games to 2. The Blues are 6-3 on the road this year in the playoffs. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

Jason Hammel pitched 7 1-3 stingy innings and had a two-run double in the Chicago's six-run first as the Cubs went on to rout the St. Louis Cardinals 12-3 on Tuesday night. The Cardinals play the Cubs today at 12:45. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer, Lorenzo Cain had four hits and two RBIs, and the Kansas City Royals picked up where their bats left off the night before while beating the tumbling Minnesota Twins 7-4 on Tuesday. Wade Davis worked a wobbly ninth inning for his 12th save in 13 attempts, preserving the seventh win for the Royals in their last nine contests. The Royals play the Twins today at 12:10.

Graveside services for Ann Coombs of Steelville, age 90, will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the Steelville Cemetery in Steelville. All arrangements are under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville.
