The Dent County Commissioners held their meeting Monday morning at the Dent County Courthouse. In road reports, District One Commissioner Dennis Purcell reported that grading would be done and materials would be hauled to Dent County Road 5680. He went on to say that grading only would be done on county roads 2450, 5150, and 6050, while brush would be cut on Dent County Road 2470. Purcell reported that he would be attending a tourism meeting Monday night. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson reported that grading would be done and materials would be hauled to Dent County Road 2050, while grading only would be done on county roads 3180 and 5260. He went on to say material only would be hauled to Dent County Road 2020. He also stated that a crew would be out checking roads from the road rally over the weekend that included county roads 4020 and 4330. Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles reported that all three commissioners attended the South Central County Commissioners meeting in Houston on Friday. Skiles reported it was a good meeting and they were able to visit with several Representatives and Senators from the State of Missouri that were in attendance at the meeting. Skiles also stated that he would be attending a Meramac Regional Emergency Planning Commission meeting Wednesday morning. Dent County Clerk Angie Curley reported that absentee voting continues through April 4th and that the Municipal Election will be held on April 5th. Absentee ballots can be mailed out through March 30th. Curley wanted to remind voters that any name or address changes really need to be made by stopping by her office or call her office at 729-4144. She stated that there were 400 calls from the election judges during the Presidential Preference Primary of which 234 included address changes. Holly Kreienkamp, Mobility Manger with the MRPC and two representatives from Enterprise Holdings, Matt Madura and Josh Lambert were in to give the Commission information about a ride share program developed to assist people with disabilities, senior citizens, low income individuals as well as the general public that do not have transportation and that is whether the ride is to work, the doctor, or errands. About 80% of the funding for the program through the MRPC comes from MoDOT and the other 20% comes from the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council. The next meeting of the Dent County Commission will be Thursday morning at 9:00 at the Dent County Courthouse and the meeting is open the public.

The Salem Memorial District Hospital Board of Directors will conduct their March meeting tonight in the hospital library beginning at 6:00 PM. After approval of the minutes from the February 16th meeting, will be the summary of operations and statistics reports for February. Hospital Administrator Kasey Lucas will then update the Board with an auxiliary report and legislative updates followed by the Chief of Staff report. In old business there will be a 2011 strategic planning goals update, the Board will address the Community Health Needs Assessment, the Ozark Independent Health Alliance (OIHA) and a report from the 2017 budget committee. In new business the Board will address purchases made for the hospital and a sale of assets. The March meeting of the Salem Memorial District Hospital Board of Directors is open to the public.

An accident occurred at 7:54 PM on Thursday, March 10th in the parking area of the Show Me Storage on International Drive in Salem. According to the Salem Police report, a 1997 Ford F150 4X4 driven by Anthony Dooley of Salem was southbound in the parking are of Show Me Storage about 28.5 foot south of West International. The brakes apparently failed and the Ford made contact with storage units #29 and #30. Dooley stated he was traveling about five to seven miles per hour and the brakes felt soft and he was unable to stop. No injuries were reported. The Ford F150 and the storage units sustained moderate damage.

Clay Buchholz pitched into the fifth inning, Pablo Sandoval and Jackie Bradley Jr. each drove in two runs and the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 Monday. In his 11th Grapefruit League at-bat, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina got his first hit of the spring, a single over shortstop Xander Bogaerts. The Cardinals will play the Marlins Wednesday afternoon.

The Kansas City Royals had the day off Monday and will take in the Los Angels Dodgers tonight.

The St. Louis Blues who will be at San Jose taking on the Sharks. Pre-game show will start tonight at 9:00. You can listen to the game on KSMO Radio 1340 AM.

Funeral services for Reverend Bud Sanders of Steelville, age 90, will be held this morning at 11:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Interment will be in the Steelville Cemetery. Funeral services for Sandra Kay Powell of Salem, age 65 will be held today at 1:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Scenic Rivers Industries-Sheltered Workshop.

Funeral services for Louise Ritter Mathes of Bunker, age 65, will be held today at 1:00 at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Bunker. Visitation will be held at 10:00 until time of service. Interment will be in the Bunker Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Reynolds County Sheltered Workshop Employee Fund.

Funeral services for Lois M. Carter of Salem, age 68, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Salem Chapel of James and Gahr Mortuary/ Dent County Chapel. Interment will be in the Jadwin Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Little Prairie Bible Camp.

Funeral services for Alice May Hagan of Salem, age 78, will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church.
