The Dent County Commissioners held their regular meeting Thursday morning in the Dent County Courthouse. In the road report, District I Commissioner Dennis Purcell reported his district received 3 to 6 inches of snow, that his crews had pushed snow where needed and they were getting ready for the very muddy roads that are ahead. He went on to say that his crew was in the Montauk area cleaning up downed trees and limbs, plus materials were being added to Dent County Road 6670. Purcell added that truck and shop maintenance were also being performed. District II Commissioner Gary Larson said that materials were being added to and patch grading done on Dent County Road 2550. He went on to say that truck #68 was in for maintenance, plus some of his crew was doing shop maintenance. Larson said that there were several limbs down from the heavy snow so members of his crew were addressing the problems reported and checking for others. Larson echoed Purcell’s comments about the expected sloppy and muddy roads that they are preparing for. Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles said that Tuesday he attended the Ozarks Regional Solid Waste Management District Executive Board meeting in St. James. He said that there would be a special waste collection of electronic waste on May 21st in Rolla. Dent County Clerk Angie Curley reported that her office is continuing the election processes and registrations.
