The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released a report. On Tuesday, February 23rd, deputies with the Dent County Sheriff’s Department, officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and officers with the Salem Police Department executed a search warrant in the 300 block of West Hunt. During the search of the residence, approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located. As a result, 55-year old Timothy Tracy and 30-year old Kristopher Schafer, both of Salem were arrested. Both are currently being held in the Dent County Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond.

The Salem Police Department released reports involving a domestic assault, property damage, fraudulent use of a debit card, a fight and a traffic violation. On Sunday, February 14th at 2:03 in the early morning, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 300 block of West Seventh in reference to a domestic assault. The investigation of the report revealed a 19-year old Salem male had assaulted a 17-year old Salem female. Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect for domestic assault, possession of marijuana, property damage and resisting arrest. He was issued summonses to appear in court and released. That afternoon at 12:56, an officer was detailed to Hilltop Auto located in the 400 block of East Fourth reference property damage to a vehicle. The investigation of the report revealed someone unknown broke the passenger side window and the back glass valued at $250.00 on a black 2000 Chevrolet Malibu. On Tuesday, February 26th at 9:07 in the morning, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to the fraudulent use of a debit card. That investigation revealed that a person unauthorized to use the card withdrew $500.00. Later that night at 6:52, an officer was sent to a residence in the 200 block of East Hunt reference to a domestic assault. The investigation of the report revealed a 31-year old Salem female had assaulted a 27-year old Salem male, a 26-year old Salem female and a two-year old male of Salem. They were all injured during the assault. Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect who was issued summonses to appear in court and released. Later that night at 11:38, an officer located a 26-year old female of Salem in the 600 block of South Jackson who had an active fugitive arrest warrant from Cabool, Missouri. She was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending extradition. On Wednesday, February 17th at 1:39 in the afternoon, an officer was dispatched to the Salem High School in reference to a fight. The report revealed a 17-year old male of Salem had assaulted a 15-year old male of Salem. The 17-year old male was taken into custody for assault, issued a summons to appear in court and was released. That night at 8:58, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The stop led to the arrest of a 55-year old Salem male for driving while intoxicated. He was incarcerated pending the application for a warrant. A private pesticide applicator training class will be offered Thursday, March 10th, at 6:30 pm, in the conference room of the Dent County Extension Center in Salem. This course is only for those people who produce agriculture commodities (farmers) and who desire to apply these pesticides for private use who are 18 years of age and older. Those individuals who are interested in commercial, dealer or other pesticide licenses should contact the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Sarah Kenyon, University of Missouri Extension Agronomy Specialist, will be instructing this two-hour course for those who wish to purchase and apply restricted-use pesticides. By participating in this training session, individuals will meet the Missouri Department of Agriculture requirements to obtain a license to purchase and apply restricted-use pesticides for private use.  Those individuals who need to renew an expiring restricted-use pesticide license are eligible to attend this session to have those licenses renewed. There is no charge for the course, however participants must purchase or have with them at the training the M87 Private Pesticide Applicators Reference Manual. Those who have received the training since 2008, should have this manual and will be required to bring the manual to the training or purchase a new manual for $12. Manuals may be shared within a household. Please call the Dent County Extension office at 729-3196 by March 8th to reserve a seat or if you have questions.

The St. Louis Blues will host the New York Rangers tonight starting at 6:30. The Blues are currently in 3rd place in the Central Division. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

The National Hockey League Department of Player Safety announced that Blues forward Ryan Reaves has been suspended for three games for his hit against the San Jose Sharks defensemen Matt Tennison. The Blues have recalled forward Ty Rattie from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves to take the place of Reaves.

The Salem Boys and Girls Basketball Tigers will be at Jeff City Helias for Class 4, District 10 basketball action starting on Monday, February 29th. The boys will play first against the Eldon Mustangs at 5:30 and the girls game will be held at 8:30 against the Rolla Lady Bulldogs. The price of admission is $4.00 per person per game for those who are six years of age and above. If the boys win, they will play Jeff City Helias on Thursday, March 3rd at 8:30; and if the girls win, they would play School of the Osage Thursday, March 3rd at 5:30. All the games will be broadcast live on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com; and recorded for Fidelity Local 6.

Funeral services for Hazel Smith of Salem, age 63, will be held this morning at 11:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Mr. Hermon Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Hermon Methodist Church and Cemetery. 

Funeral services for Barbara Lee Ritter of Salem, age 75, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Wilson Mortuary Chapel in Salem. Visitation will be tonight from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Bunker Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Ritter Family for funeral expenses.

Funeral services for Robert E. Gargus of St. James, age 91, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the St. James Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Asher Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Solid Rock Christian Church.

A visitation from 12:00 noon until 2:00 Saturday will be held for Becky Ann Voight of Rolla, age 58, followed by short service at the James and Gahr Chapel in Rolla. Memorials may be made to the Rolla Animal Shelter of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

Funeral services for Norma A. Blanner of Salem, age 92, will be held Sunday at 1:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from noon until service time. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Salem Care Center. All Arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary of Salem.

A Celebration of Life for Farris Dean Land of Salem, age 58, will be held Monday starting at 10:00 at the Grace Community Church. Memorials may be made to the Farris Land family. All arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary in Salem.
