On Tuesday, February 9th, deputies with the Dent County Sheriff’s Department busted a meth lab in the 200 block of Highway WW in Dent County. As a result of the bust, 30-year old Travis Ivicsics and 35-year old Melissa Young were charged with felony manufacturing and/or producing a controlled substance and felony endangering the welfare of a child. Young told law enforcement officers that she did not help with cooking the meth, but later smoked and snorted the meth. Young has four children ranging in age from 11 to 15 years of age, all of whom she said were on the premises during the cooking and subsequent consumption of the meth. On Wednesday, February 10th at 11:50 in the morning, deputies with the Dent County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 3000 block of county road 2510 in reference to a domestic disturbance.  After a short investigation, it was discovered that 31-year old Walter Williams III of Lenox had been involved in an argument over money, inside a truck parked at a residence. It was reported that Williams then assaulted the driver of the truck until he relinquished $100. Williams was then arrested and transported to the Dent County Jail. Williams was incarcerated and has been charged with robbery in the second degree and domestic assault in the second degree. He is currently being held on a $50,000 cash only bond. On Thursday, February 11th 40-year old Timothy Robinson as also arrested after his home in the 600 block Askins Street was searched, that produced a digital scale with residue that field tested positive of methamphetamine was found. Robinson was also arrested for allegedly helping Ivicsics cook the meth and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and felony possession of a controlled substance. Robinson confessed that he bought pseudoephedrine and helped cook the batch of meth, for which he was provided with a quarter of a gram of meth. Young and Ivicsics are both currently incarcerated in the Dent County Jail with bond set at $100,000 cash only. Robinson is also in the jail with bond set at $75,000 cash only. The Dent County Sheriff’s Department also reports that shortly after midnight on Valentine’s Day morning, Chad Cochran was taken into custody by Dent County deputies. Deputies received information that Cochran was at a residence in the 700 block of South McArthur. Deputies located Cochran and he was taken into custody without incident. Cochran was wanted on multiple felony warrants out of Maries County stemming from a vehicle pursuit in October 2015. In these cases, the information provided is just an accusation, and is not evidence of guilt. Evident in support of any charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it will be to determine guilt or innocence.

The 6th Annual FFA Alumni Scholarship Auction and Dessert Sale will be held Thursday at 6:30 at the Salem Upper Elementary School. Students from the Salem FFA Chapter will be providing labor for 4, 6 or 8 hours that will include a variety of services that will be auctioned off. There will also be home-made pies and cakes that will be auctioned as well. All the proceeds will go to the Salem FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund. Five straight steals and 10 consecutive points to start the 4th quarter of the game tied at 42-42 propelled the Salem Tigers to a 70-63 win over the Cabool Bulldogs Friday night. Kobe Mead led the Tigers with 21 points followed by Jakob Happel with 12 points and Antonio Quick and Logan Woolf each netting 11 points. Salem is now 12-10 on the year and they are 4-1 in the SCA Conference and will be home to face the Willow Springs Bears Tuesday night.

The Salem Lady Tigers will host the Willow Springs Lady  Bears in another key SCA Conference match up tonight at the SHS gym. The JV game will be at 6:00 with the varsity game to follow. The Salem Lady Tigers are 18-4 on the season and 5-0 in the SCA Conference. You can hear that game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com and on Fidelity Local 6.

Ryan Rosburg scored 21 points with five rebounds, shooting 8-for-9 from the field, as Missouri snapped a nine-game losing streak, beating Tennessee 75-64 Saturday. The Tigers closed the game on a 7-0 run. Kevin Puryear finished with 17 points and five rebounds. Missouri is now 9-16 on the year and 2-10 in the SEC Conference. They will be at Ole Miss Tuesday night at 5:30. KSMO will air the first half before Salem Tiger Basketball.

The St. Louis Blues beat the Florida Panthers Friday night by the score of 5-3-as Jaden Schwartz in his first game back after his broken ankle injury scored. The Blues scored three first period goals for the first time this year. Then Sunday night, Patrick Berglund’s third period breakaway goal and the outstanding goaltending of Brian Elliott stopping 37 of 38 shots gave the Blues a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blues will come to home to face the Dallas Stars Tuesday night. That game will begin at 7:00, but it won’t be heard until 9:00 on KSMO Radio.

The Royals agreed to terms with their final arbitration-eligible player Thursday, when they and third baseman Mike Moustakas agreed to a two-year contract. The deal is reportedly worth a combined $14.3 million, with Moustakas set to earn $5.6 million in 2016 and $8.7 million in 2017. The 27-year old Moustakas is coming off his first career All-Star appearance last season after batting .284 with 22 home runs, all career highs. Moustakas started all 16 Royals post-season games during the team's run to the World Series championship, and he hit .215 with a double, a homer and eight RBIs.

Funeral services for Wayne Albert Siems of Salem, age 92, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the Honors Flight-Columbia Missouri Division.

Funeral services for Leonard Thompson of Salem, age 89, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until service time. Interment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary of Salem.

Graveside services for Patricia Ann Thomas of Rolla, age 76, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 at the Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman, Mississippi. Memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Fund in Rockville MD. or www.kidneyfund.org. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla.

Funeral services for Buren Clark Triplett of Safety Harbor, Florida, age 94, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the New Harmony Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel in Salem. Interment will be in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Salem. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the New Harmony Baptist Church. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary of Salem.

Funeral services for Annie M. Rymer of Salem, age 59, will be held at a later date. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem.
