The Dent County Commissioners held their regular meeting Thursday morning in the Dent County Courthouse. In the road report both District I Commissioner Dennis Purcell and District II Commissioner Gary Larson said that their crews were continuing to add sand and salt to hills, curves and slick sections.  Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles said that last Thursday he attended the MRPC meeting with staff members from the offices of Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill, plus Representatives Jason Smith, Vicky Hartzler and Blaine Lutkemeyer. Skiles added that next Tuesday he would be attending the MRPC Legislative Day in Jefferson City. Dent County Clerk Angie Curley reminded voters that February 2nd is the first day for absentee voting for the March 15th Presidential Preference Primary and voters must have a valid reason to vote absentee. She went on to say that February 17th is the last day to register to vote for the March 15th election. Curley added that anyone that has had a name or address change needs to contact her office to get an updated voter identification card. Larry Goldberg, President of Goldberg Group Architects, along with Sheriff Rick Stallings and Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Curley were in for an update on the proposed Justice Center.
