Medlock indicated $3,800 was collected for merchants’ licenses and $225,178 was collected from utilities with two protests. Dent County Treasurer Denita Williams reported on the General Revenue Sales Tax received for January was $67,331.87 while in January of 2015, the county received $66,353.50. The Road and Bridge Sales Tax received in January was $30,427.55. In the road report, District I Commissioner Dennis Purcell reported the roads were frozen and no grading could be done. He said workers would be out checking for downed limbs and trees from the high winds Saturday as well as cleaning out culverts. Purcell stated one man would be doing electrical work on the newly purchased replacement pup trailer and other workers would be checking out a reported sink hole on Dent County Road 5630. Larson stated a man was servicing grader #27 and another man was working on a fuel tank on truck #72. Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles reported on the MCEC meeting he attended last week. He said the Board has money available for two home repair work on doors, windows, roofs and HVAC. The MCEC Board is looking for two houses that will qualify as there are income guidelines that must be met. To be eligible, a person can make 50% of the median household income of Dent County. Skiles calculated that would come to $16,850 for a single person, $19,250 for two people living in the home, $21,050 for three persons living in the home and $24,050 if there are four people in the home. This project pays a contractor to do the work. Persons who think they may qualify should contact Kelly Sink-Blair at 573-265-2993. He also gave a report on the Naturally Meramec Project. Skiles said they had over 600 entities that have contacted them about being a part the project. They are currently working on an interactive website.
