Walden and Water and Sewer Superintendent Jack Emory presented a bid from Hogan’s for the renovation of the existing 75,000 gallon water storage tank located near Casey’s on Highway 19. The youth basketball season is currently going on and numbers have been down this year. Sign ups for the youth baseball season have just completed and games will begin soon. The water at all of the park facilities has been turned on. Nash explained that water is turned off and winterized on October 1st each year and then restored on April 1st. The park board members discussed having vending machines at the pool and at Al Brown park this year to cut down on losses due to personnel costs. City Administrator Ray Walden presented City Clerk Mary Happel with a plaque from the Missouri Professional City Clerks Organization for achieving 500 hours of professional development and earning the groups’ highest level. Walden reported that there were 5,548 people who attended events and activities at the Salem Community Center @ the Armory for the month of March.
