The Salem Police Department has released several reports. On Wednesday, December 21st at 7:07 in the evening, an officer made contact with a 30-year old Salem male in the 800 block of East Third Street who had an active warrant from St. Charles County. He was taken into custody on the warrant, was unable to post bond, and was incarcerated pending extradition. Later that night at 10:15, an officer was conducting an investigation at an apartment at the Walnut Motel and found a 31-year old Salem female of to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was arrested, issued summons to appear in court, and released. On Thursday, December 22nd at 12:25 in the early morning, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of South Hickory Street in reference to a peace disturbance. The investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year old male, a 20-year old male, and a 21-year old male all of Salem for minor in possession of intoxicants, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly house. They were issued a summons to appear in court and released. Later that morning at 1:45, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The investigation of the stop led to the arrest of a 29-year old Salem male for possession of Opium or derivative, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while revoked. He was incarcerated pending the application for warrants. Later on the afternoon at 2:44, an officer was dispatched to 301 East Tenth Street in reference to juveniles damaging the old Middle School. The investigation led to the detention of three male juveniles, two 14-years old and a 16-year old, for damage to city property and trespassing. They were released to a parent and the report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office for further review. An accident occurred at 11:35 Friday night in Phelps County on Route O about seven miles south of Rolla. According to the highway patrol report, a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by 22-year old Kimberly Sherman of Salem failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Sherman suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center. She was not wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Pontiac sustained extensive damage and was removed from the scene by C&C Towing.

Central Missouri organizations interested in improving health care in their communities are invited to an upcoming opportunity for attendees to hear about the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH). The meeting is free and designed for health and community action nonprofits; community service clubs; human service providers; and community leaders. Lunch will be provided. The Salem Lady Tiger basketball team lost to Conway Monday evening, 56-46, in the first round of the Lebanon Holiday Tournament. Darian Grogan lead the Lady Tigers with 15 points as Salem drops to 0-8 on the year. The Lady Tigers will play the loser of the Buffalo/ Bolivar game on Wednesday.

The Salem Tiger Boy’s Basketball team will be playing in the Rolla Holiday Invitational Tournament today at 4:00. Salem will be facing Francis Howell Central in first round action and you’ll be able to hear the game on KSMO and ksmoradio.com.

James Franklin ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, leading Missouri to a 41-24 win over North Carolina in Monday's Independence Bowl. Franklin finished with 142 yards on the ground and 132 through the air for the Tigers (8-5). Missouri recorded four straight wins to close the season, their last in the Big 12 before a move to the SEC.

Chris Stewart netted a pair of goals, leading the St. Louis Blues to a 5-3 victory over the Dallas Stars at Scottrade Center Monday. Adam Cracknell, Jason Arnott, and Evgeny Grachev each found the back of the net for the Blues, who have won two consecutive games. Jaroslav Halak made 20 saves to earn the win. The Blues will play the Detroit Red Wings tonight at 6:30 and you can hear that game on KSMO.

Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown and Charlie Batch played well in place of Ben Roethlisberger, leading Pittsburgh to a 27-0 victory over St. Louis on Saturday. Sam Bradford missed his fifth game of the season for the Rams (2-13) because of a high ankle sprain and Kellen Clemens got his second straight start, passing for just 91 yards on 9-of-24 completions. The Rams play San Francisco Sunday in their last game of the year.

Sebastian Janikowski kicked three field goals, including the 36-yard game-winning boot in overtime, as Oakland topped Kansas City, 16-13, at Arrowhead Stadium. Kyle Orton completed 21-of-36 passes for 300 yards, one TD and two picks for the Chiefs (6-9). Dwayne Bowe registered the game-tying touchdown late in the fourth, part of an 80-yard, six-reception contest. Kansas City was eliminated from playoff contention with the setback. The Chiefs play Denver in their season finale Sunday.

Funeral services for Belinda A. Hogan of Salem, age 58, will be held today at noon at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Funeral services for Emma James of Steelville, age 89, will be held today at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Interment will be in the Freeman Cemetery in Cherryville.

Private graveside services for Dorothy D. Porter of Washington, MO, formerly of Salem, age 96, will be held at 11:00 Wednesday morning in the Anutt Cemetery in Anutt. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem.

Graveside services for Donald Dwight Durham of Jadwin, age 59, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 at the Weese Cemetery in Timber Mo. with Military Honors. All arrangements are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services for Franky Eugene Oehring of Rolla, age 61, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rolla. Visitation will be from noon until time of service at the church. Interment will be in the Roach Cemetery near Doolittle with full military honors. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla.

Funeral services for Doris M. Rutledge of Salem, age 99, will be held Thursday at 11:00 at the Salem Christian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 5:00 to 7:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem. Interment will be in the Stone Hill Cemetery in Salem. Memorials may be made to the Salem Christian Church.

Memorial services for Erma Louise Webster of Piedmont, SD and formerly of Steelville, age 89, will be held Friday at 5:15 at the Britton Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 5:00 with an Easter Star Service at 5:00. Interment will be in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.

Funeral services for Pearl Sites of Cuba formerly of Steelville, age 95, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the Britton Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be from 11:00 until time of service. Interment will be in the Steelville Cemetery.
