The Salem Police Department released their reports involving theft, burglary and leaving without paying. On December 10^th at 6:22 in the evening, an officer was detailed to the 900 block of North Jackson in reference to a theft. The report revealed three subjects entered a residence and stole numerous prescription medications. Further investigation led to the arrest of an 18-year old female, a 25-year old male and 16-year old female juvenile all of Salem for burglary, and stealing synthetic narcotics. The adults were incarcerated pending the application for warrants and the juvenile was released to her parents. On December 17^th at 3:27 in the afternoon, an officer was detailed to the Fourth Street Mall in reference to a theft. The report revealed that person(s) unknown took a gold ring valued at $185 from a display case. On December 19^th at 10:46 in the morning, an officer was detailed to the 1100 block of North Main in reference to a burglary. The report led to the arrest of a 17-year old Salem male for burglary and stealing construction tools valued at $2,000. He was incarcerated pending the application for a warrant. On December 20^th at 9:15 in the evening, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to the theft of a dog. The report revealed that person(s) unknown entered a residence in the 800 block of East Ellis and took a brown Dachshund valued at $500. On December 21^st at 9:15 in the morning, an officer was detailed to Casey’s General Store on South Main in reference to a leave without pay. The report revealed that person(s) unknown drove a green Chevrolet Celebrity in and pumped $10.01 in fuel and then left without paying. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has an honorable history of service and protection in this state, and is looking for qualified candidates to continue this tradition. The Salem Police Department released their reports involving property damage and an active warrant. On December 10^th at 9:10 in the evening, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 1000 block of South Water in reference to property damage. The report revealed that person(s) unknown damaged yard and Christmas ornaments. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year old male and the detention of a 16-year old male juvenile both of Salem for property damage. The 17-year old was issued a summons to appear in court and released. The male juvenile was released to his parents and the report will be forwarded to the juvenile officer. On December 12^th at 2:00 in the afternoon, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to property damage. The report revealed that person(s) unknown damaged a mailbox valued at $35. On December 19^th at 12:30 in the morning, an officer made contact with a 29-year old male of Salem that had an active warrant from Dent County. He was released to the Dent County Sheriff’s Department. Anyone with any information regarding these incidents is asked to pleased contact the Salem Police Department at 729-4242.

The Salem Lady Tigers improved to 7-1 with a 57-44 win over St. Clair last Friday night. Allison Jones and Natalie Howard each scored 22 points to lead Salem as the Lady Tigers will play today at 1:00 at the Lebanon Tournament. The Salem Lady JV Tigers will play in the Lebanon Tournament this morning at 11:30.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will face Springdale, Arkansas in the first round of the US Bank Holiday Tournament today starting at about 5:30. Salem enters the game with a 6-2 record. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio and online at www.ksmoradio.com

Valtteri Filppula had his first career multi- goal game, and Chris Osgood made 20 saves to post his second shutout of the season, as the Detroit Red Wings hammered the St. Louis Blues, 5-0, at Scottrade Center. Osgood has blanked St. Louis twice this season, with the other shutout coming on November 21. He now has 45 career shutouts. Manny Legace allowed four goals on 16 shots for the Blues, who have dropped two straight. He was replaced near the midpoint of the second period by Hannu Toivonen, who made 10 saves the rest of the way. The Blues will be back in action Friday night as they host the San Jose Sharks at 7:30.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers will face Coppin State tonight starting at 7:00. KSMO will join the game in progress immediately following the Salem Tigers Basketball game. Missouri enters the game with an 8-4 record.

Funeral services for Martin Gnemi of St. James, age 86, will be held today at 10:00 at the James & Gahr Mortuary in St. James. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery in St. James. Memorials are suggested to the St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral services for Jill Mosher of Rolla, age 50, will be held Friday at 10:00 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in St. James. Visitation will be this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Interment will be in the High Baptist Cemetery in High Gate.

Funeral services for John R. Hudspeth of Salem will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be this evening from 6:00 to 8:00. A Masonic Service will be held tonight at 7:00. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Funeral services for Curtis C. Payne of Farmington, age 79, will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at the James & Gahr Chapel in Salem. Visitation will be tonight from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Boss Cemetery.
