The Dent County Commissioners met for regular meeting Monday morning in the Dent County Courthouse. In the road report District 1 Commissioner Dennis Purcell said maintenance was being completed on truck #119 and a crew was responding to a dumped trash report.  District 2 Commissioner Gary Larson said that his crew was doing shop maintenance, checking road signs and working on a trailer. Dent County Clerk Angie Curley indicated she was continuing to work on budgets and year-end reports. Dent County Assessor Tina Whitaker was in to provide the media with details about the purchase of updated maps for the county’s overlay program used with her software. Intrinsicorp, the software provider for her office, had notified Whitaker late last week that the 2007 map overlays could be replaced with the 2011 maps at a savings of 75 percent. WeoGeo of Portland, Oregon, the mapping company recommended by Intrinsicorp, bid $4,756.22. County Clerk Curley obtained a comparison bid from Apollo Mapping Service, another company that Intrinsicorp works with, in the amount of $7,238.56. Since the WeoGeo bid represented a savings to the county of $17,000 to $22,000, the Commissioners had voted by phone on Friday to accept the WeoGeo bid. The next meeting of the Commissioners will be this morning at 9:00 at the courthouse and it is open to the public.
