The Dent County Commissioners held their meeting Thursday morning at the Dent County Courthouse. In road reports, District One Commissioner Dennis Purcell reported that a crew would be hauling brown rock, brush would be cut on Dent County Road 6660, and patch grading as well as checking for downed signs would be done in the Bunker area. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson reported that a crew would be working at the gravel plant and hauling brown rock, and brush would be cut on Dent County Roads 3260, 3280 and 5300. Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles attended a Transportation Advisory Committee meeting Thursday afternoon at the MRPC office in St. James where they updated transportation priorities in the area. Skiles also attended an External Relations Committee meeting and the MRPC Board meeting Thursday night, as members discussed state legislative priorities with legislators in attendance. Dent County Clerk Angie Curley reported that she and the Dent County Treasurer balanced on all accounts for November. Curley also wanted to remind voters that the last day to register to vote is January 11, 2012 for the Presidential Primary that will be held February 7, 2012. Voters will have to declare a party at that primary. Curley also reported that absentee voting for the Presidential Primary begins December 24^th, which is a Saturday and with the Dent County Courthouse being closed in observance of Christmas Day on Monday, December 26^th, the first day to absentee vote at the Clerk’s Office will be Tuesday, December 27^th. District Engineer David Silvester and Area Engineer Preston Kramer with MoDOT came in to introduce themselves to the Commission. The next meeting of the Dent County Commissioners will be Monday at 9:00 am at the Dent County Courthouse and that meeting is open to the public.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released their arrest reports for Dent County. On Thursday, December 1^st at 5:12 in the evening, 43-year old William Sullivan of Salem was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, and failure to signal. He was taken to the Dent County Jail and held on bond. Later that night at 10:30, 43-year old Donald Gargus of St. James was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and speeding. He was taken to the Dent County Jail and later released. On Saturday, December 3^rd at 10:04 at night, 46-year old Kenneth Hunter of Salem was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, and no insurance. He was then released. A little later that night at 10:15, 48-year old Pamela Barnwell of Salem was arrested on a felony Dent County warrant for receiving stolen property. She was taken to the Dent County Jail and held on bond. Later on that night at 11:22, 31-year old Angelique Bunton of Salem was arrested on a felony Dent County warrant for first-degree child molestation. She was taken to the Dent County Jail and held on bond.

Albert Pujols is leaving St. Louis. The L.A. Angels announced Thursday that they have reached a "tentative understanding" with Pujols on a contract, pending a physical, but did not specify terms of the agreement. According to a report, Pujols has agreed to a 10-year deal that is expected to pay him between $250-260 million, with a full no trade clause.

The Salem Lady Tiger basketball team lost to Willow Springs Thursday night, 54-32. Bailey Barnes scored 8 points for Salem, while Darian Grogan and Ashley Crocker added 7 points each. The Lady Tigers fall to 0-4 on the year and will be playing West Plains on Tuesday.

The Salem Tiger boy’s basketball team will host St. James tonight starting with the JV at 6:00 with the varsity to follow. The Tigers are 1-2 on the year and you can hear the varsity game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com. The game is also available live on a subscription basis on the Internet on fidelitylocal6.com.

Ian Cole had a goal and an assist, leading St. Louis to a 4-2 victory over Anaheim on Thursday. T.J. Oshie scored a pair and Chris Porter also tallied for the Blues, who improved to 6-1-1 over their last eight and continue to surge under new coach Ken Hitchcock. Jaroslav Halak made 20 saves in the win. The Blues will host the San Jose Sharks Saturday night at 7:00 and you’ll be able to hear it on KSMO.

The 10^th ranked Missouri Tiger basketball squad will host Navy Saturday. Missouri is 8-0 for only the 15^th time in the program’s history. KSMO will broadcast the game starting with the pre-game show at 3:30.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be in New York to face the Jets Sunday at noon. The Chiefs are 5-7, but with a win could move them a game back in their division. The St. Louis Rams will be playing the Seattle Seahawks Monday night at 7:30. The Rams are 2-10 on the year.

Memorial services for Imogene F. Gremmer of St. James, age 83, will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the First Church of God in St. James. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. All arrangements are under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary in St. James.
