The Dent County Fire Protection District released their reports. On Wednesday, November 25^th at 8:25 pm, fire personnel were paged out to an electrical fire at Wal-Mart. Upon arrival eight firefighters found the fire was out and appeared to have started in an electrical outlet. The scene was under control at 8:29 pm. On Friday, November 27^th at 8:16 pm, the fire personnel were paged out to an electrical fire on county road 4110. Upon arrival 11 firefighters found a one-story wood frame structure with heavy smoke coming from the structure. The fire was believed to have started from the dryer. The scene was under control at 8:56 pm. On Saturday, November 28^th at 2:35 in afternoon, fire personnel were paged out to a grass fire on county road 5110. Upon arrival seven firefighters found less than a acre on fire, extinguished the fire and had the scene under control at 3:01 that afternoon. On Monday, November 30^th at 12:14 in the early morning, the Dent County Fire Protection District assisted the Salem Memorial District Hospital with a male patient. A total of fire firefighters responded to the call. At 6:50 that evening, the Dent County Fire Protection District setup a secure landing zone at the station. A total of 12 firefighters responded to the call.

The Salem Police Department released their reports involving thefts and a traffic violation. On Tuesday, December 1^st at 11:15 a.m. an officer was sent to Stephens Family Steakhouse in reference to a theft. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown took cash from the office. Later that morning at 11:55, an officer was detailed to the 800 block of North Highway 19 in reference to a burglary. The investigation of that report revealed person or persons unknown entered a residence under renovation and took an oak hutch bottom and caused property damage. That evening at 7:34, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The investigation of the stop led to the arrest of a 40-year old male of Salem for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released. On Wednesday night, December 2^nd at 7:39, an officer was detailed to Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter. The investigation of the report led to the detention of a 16 year-old male juvenile for stealing $16.93 in merchandise. He was released to his parents and the report will be forwarded to the juvenile office. The City of Salem Board of Alderman will conduct their meeting tonight at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 202 North Washington beginning at 7:00 pm. After approval of the agenda, CPA Molly Malone from Verkamp & Malone will give the audit report for the year 2008/2009. Alderman Brad Nash, Kenneth Nash, Jim Jackson and Jim McDaniels will then discuss miscellaneous items involving the City of Salem. McDaniels would also like an update on the cat problem and storm water problems. Mayor Gary Brown will then discuss items involving the City of Salem including reviewing deposit policies for utilities when a divorce occurs. During new and miscellaneous business, City Attorney Nanci Wisdom will present a petition for annexation that was requested by Phil and Ruth Krueger at 1426 West Franklin. After approval of bills presented by City Clerk Mary Happel, the Board may then go into Closed Session. The meeting of the City of Salem Board of Alderman this evening is open to the public.

The Salem Lady Tiger basketball team will be in action tonight at 5:30 as they face Mountain Grove in the Cabool Lady Bulldog Tournament. Salem goes into that tournament 1-1 on the year.

Andy McDonald got the winner in the shootout as St. Louis got past Los Angeles, 5-4, at Staples Center. Paul Kariya netted a pair of goals while Boyes and Keith Tkachuk scored once for the Blues, who won the final two tilts of a three-game road trip. Chris Mason finished with 36 saves for the win. The Blues will host the Colorado Avalanche tonight at 7:00 and you can hear that game on KSMO Radio.

Marcus Denmon's 17 points paced six players in double figures as the Missouri Tigers rolled over the Oregon Ducks, 106-69, in a Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series game. Zaire Taylor scored 16 points for the Tigers (5-2). Kim English and Laurence Bowers added 14 points apiece. Michael Dixon and J.T. Tiller each scored 10. The Tigers will travel to face Oral Roberts on Wednesday.

The Missouri Football Tigers will face the US Naval Academy in the Texas Bowl to be held at 2:30 on December 31^st. This is the fifth straight bowl appearance and their sixth in seven years under Coach Pinkel. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Jay Cutler threw for 143 yards and a score, as the Chicago Bears snapped a four-game slide with a 17-9 victory over the St. Louis Rams at Soldier Field. Steven Jackson ran for 112 yards for the Rams (1-11), who have dropped their last four since beating Detroit on November 1. Kyle Boller was 17-of-32 with 113 yards and an interception, as St. Louis was stopped on a potential game- tying drive in the final minutes. Josh Brown kicked three field goals in the setback.

Kyle Orton threw two touchdown passes and rookie Knowshon Moreno added a pair of scores on the ground, as the Denver Broncos crushed the Kansas City Chiefs, 44-13, at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel connected on 10-of-29 attempts for just 84 yards and two picks before he was benched in the fourth quarter. Jamaal Charles had 56 yards on 18 carries and scored the lone touchdown for the Chiefs (3-9), who have dropped their last two games by a combined score of 87-27.
