According to Dent County Sheriff Rick Stallings, an investigation is ongoing after the discovery of a dismantled methamphetamine lab that was found on November 21st in a pasture across the county road from the Hepsoda Baptist Church.    Stallings said that some of the evidence discovered, some orange tubing and duct tape, has been sent to the Highway Patrol crime lab for DNA and latent finger print analysis. Stallings said that deputies found a five-gallon gasoline container with orange tubing coming from it which had a strong chemical odor that is consistent with a meth lab. Deputies also found a white plastic bag, a half-gallon milk container with rubber tubing protruding from the top, an assortment of lithium strips, an empty package of dry ice, and a small plastic bottle with duct tape wrapped around the top. All of the items are consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine. Stallings said that there are no suspects at this time.

Captain Kyle Marquart, Director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announced the results of a joint narcotics investigation in Crawford County. On Wednesday, November 24th after a short-term narcotic investigation, officers of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant on a warehouse located at 2164 Spurgeon Road in Cuba. As a result of the search warrant, methamphetamine, a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, and articles of drug paraphernalia were seized. Arrested at the scene were three Gasconade County residents: 25-year old Anthony B. Barton, 31-year old Michael J. Fischer, and 22- year old Spencer T. Vaughn. The Crawford County Prosecutor formally charged the three individuals with manufacturing a controlled substance. All three individuals are being held in the Crawford County Jail in lieu of a $7,500 bond. The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. Its members include the sheriff’s departments of Crawford, Camden, Gasconade, Pulaski, Laclede, and Maries counties, as well as the Lebanon and Osage Beach police departments.

Counter Kettles will be placed at various locations around Dent County.
