The Salem Police Department released their reports involving stolen a license plates, shoplifters, and a missing juvenile. On Monday, November 23rd at 4:29 p.m. an officer was contacted at the station in reference to a lost or stolen license plate. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown took the license plate from a 2005 Nissan truck. Later that evening at 7:28 p.m. an officer was detailed to Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter. The investigation of the report led to the detention of a 16 year-old male juvenile for stealing a half-gallon of Captain Morgan rum valued at $23.00. The juvenile was released to a parent and the report will be forwarded to the juvenile office. On Tuesday, November 24th at 12:26 p.m. an officer was contacted at the station in reference to a missing juvenile. The investigation of that report revealed two 14- year old female juveniles left school and met up with a 16-year old female juvenile. The three juveniles met with two 18-year old males and a 17-year old male juvenile at a residence of a 36- year old female on Hawkins Street. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 18-year old males, the 17-year old male and the 36-year old female for endangering the welfare of a child. The four suspects were incarcerated pending the application for warrants. The juveniles were detained as runaway juveniles and later released to their parents and the report will be forwarded to the juvenile officer. On Wednesday, November 25th at 3:53 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter. The investigation of the report led to the arrest of a 22-year old male of Salem for stealing merchandise from the store. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released. On Friday, November 27th at 7:40 a.m. an officer was contacted at the station in reference a lost or stolen license plate. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown took the front plate off of a 1995 Dodge Intrepid.  Please contact the Salem Police Department at (573) 729-4242 if you have any information regarding the stolen license plates that are still under investigation.       

The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released their reports involving unlawful possession. On Sunday, November 22nd at 4:58 in the afternoon, a Dent County Deputy contacted and individual in reference to a misdemeanor warrant. While at the residence on county Road 2340, the deputy was granted consent to search. During the search, the deputy asked if there were any weapons in the house. Both occupants stated that there were weapons. A resident, 38-year old William E. Roberts was charged with two felony counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, with bond set at $15,000 Cash Only.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers dropped a 37-35 decision to Northwest High School Saturday in Rolla. Jennifer Herndon scored 10 points to lead Salem who could not hold onto the lead in the 4th quarter. The Lady Tigers will host the Sullivan Lady Eagles Thursday night at the Salem High School Gym.

The Lady Basketball Tigers are seeded 4th in the upcoming Cabool Lady Bulldog Tournament that starts on Monday, December 7th. Salem will face Mountain Grove in the first round game next Monday at 5:30.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will host the West Plains Zizzers tonight starting with the JV action at 6:00 followed by the varsity contest at about 7:20. You can hear the varsity game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com.

Grant Ressel kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired, as the Missouri Tigers notched a 41-39 win over the Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 Conference clash at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Blaine Gabbert threw for 303 yards and a score and added 94 more yards on the ground for Missouri (8-4, 4-4 Big 12), which won its third game in a row. Danario Alexander had another huge game with 15 receptions for 233 yards and a touchdown, while Derrick Washington headed the ground attack with 111 yards and two scores on 15 carries. The Tigers will know Sunday what bowl they are in.

Todd Bertuzzi's goal in the fourth round of the shootout helped the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center. David Backes had a goal and an assist while Roman Polak and Brad Boyes also lit the lamp for the Blues, who had won four of five coming into the game including a 3-1 win over Nashville Friday night. Mason made 33 saves in the loss. St. Louis plays at Columbus tonight starting at 6:00 on KSMO Radio.

David Gonzalvez scored 18 points to lead Richmond to a thrilling 59-52 win over Missouri on Saturday night to clinch the South Padre Island Invitational. The Tigers (4-1) kept it close, even pulling within two points when Laurence Bowers hit a shot with eight seconds left to make it 54-52. Sophomore guard Kim English led the Tigers off the bench with 14 points. Mizzou plays Vanderbilt on Wednesday.

Justin Forsett rushed for 130 yards on 22 carries with two touchdowns, as the Seattle Seahawks downed the St. Louis Rams, 27-17, in an NFC West matchup at the Edward Jones Dome. Kyle Boller threw for 282 yards on 28-of-46 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Rams (1-10), who have dropped three straight. Donnie Avery had four catches for 48 yards and a touchdown, while Josh Brown had a field goal.

Philip Rivers tossed two scores to help the San Diego Chargers to a 43-14 rout over the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC West battle. Matt Cassel was 19-for-31 with 178 yards, one touchdown, one interception and one fumble for the Chiefs (3-8), who were coming off a 27-24 win in overtime over Pittsburgh and had won their previous two. Jamaal Charles had 14 carries for 93 yards and a score in the loss. The Chiefs had a total of four turnovers in the game and San Diego scored on all four.

Funeral services for Lee Tennant of Rolla, age 22, will be held tonight at 6:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until service time. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family of Lee Tennant.

Funeral services for Walter Dwayne Richards Sr. of Rolla, age 54, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00. Interment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Salem with full military honors.

Funeral services for Karlheinz Eissinger of Rolla, age 84, will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rolla. Visitation will be from 5:00 t0 7:00 Wednesday at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Interment will be in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens in Rolla with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Funeral services for George C. Keener of Salem, age 93, will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Warden Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services for Gregory E. Stringer of Salem, age 33, are incomplete at this time and are under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary of Salem.
