The Dent County Sheriff’s Office has released their reports. On Tuesday, November 12th deputies responded to County Road 2405 regarding a 1986 Toyota Tacoma flatbed truck that had been reported stolen. The victim advised the vehicle had been taken between 11:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon. A neighbor stated she had observed a white male wearing a backpack in the area prior to the theft. On Wednesday, November 20th, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Dent County Sheriff's Office and advised the 1986 Toyota Tacoma flatbed truck had been recovered in their jurisdiction. The vehicle had been processed for forensic evidence and was available for release back to the owner. On Thursday, November 21st at 1:00 in the afternoon, deputies responded to 807 South Missouri for a report of burglary. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a 46-year old Salem male was the reported victim of a burglary and theft from a vehicle. He stated that someone had removed 2 Alpine CD car stereos, yellow and white climbing rope, 2 Husqvarna hand saws, 50 feet of air hose, full body harness, 3 Marlboro gear bags, and 2 lowering ropes from a work truck parked in the driveway. A Stihl extendable pole saw was also taken from a shed near the truck. On Friday, November 22nd at 10:40 in the morning, deputies conducted a traffic stop at Dollar General. The driver, 63-year old Emanuel Moore of Salem, was stopped for operating the vehicle without a valid license. He was arrested for felony driving while revoked and was taken to the Dent County Jail and later released. On Sunday, November 24th at 3:55 in the afternoon, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Dent County Sheriff's Office again regarding a stolen vehicle. According to Madison County Sheriff’s Office, a green 1999 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck had been stolen in their jurisdiction. They had information that led them to believe the suspect may be en route to the Dent County area. They advised that the suspect was believed to be armed and was facing charges of assault on a law enforcement officer. At 4:45 that afternoon, Dent County Sheriff's Office deputies were made aware of a theft that occurred on County Road 5440. A green 2001 Polaris 325 Magnum ATV, a 16’ bumper hitch trailer, and a 2007 Bucheit 22 ton log splitter had been taken from farm property between 4:00 the previous afternoon and 3:00 that afternoon. While en route to the Sheriff’s Office, the owner recovered the log splitter in the ditch line along the roadway. At 5:32 that evening, while speaking with the victim in this case, deputies were notified of a vehicle that had been stolen from County Road 5520. The victim advised he had been hunting in the area and left his 1998 Ford F-150 pick-up truck parked roadside. The keys to the vehicle, as well as personal items, had been left inside the vehicle. In the place of the victim’s F-150, a black Ford F-350 flatbed truck had been left. At the time, it was unclear who the owner of the F-350 was.  A witness in the area described the suspect as a white male, 25-30 years old, with brownish blonde hair and a beard. The witness advised they had seen this suspect operating the F-350 flatbed with a green Polaris ATV on the back. It is believed the suspect off-loaded the ATV from the F-350 and reloaded it onto the victim’s F-150 prior to stealing the truck. At 7:22 that night, deputies located the owner of the F-350 flatbed truck. The owner, who resides on Highway F, was unaware that his truck had been stolen, but did advise the theft had to have occurred sometime earlier on this date. The victim also described seeing a suspicious subject in the area earlier in the day, operating a green Dodge pick-up truck. The F-350 was processed by the Dent County Sheriff's Office deputies upon its recovery. Based on the information gathered at the time, it is believed that the suspect stole a 1999 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck from Madison County. The suspect fled in the vehicle to Dent County where he then stole a 1997 Ford F-350 flatbed from Highway F. After that incident, it is believed the suspect committed the theft on County Road 5440 and then proceeded to steal the 1998 Ford F-150 from County Road 5520. On Monday, November 25th, Dent County Sheriff's Office deputies were advised by Madison County Sheriff's Office that the 1998 Ford F-150 stolen in Dent County had been recovered in their jurisdiction. The vehicle had been involved in pursuit with deputies and a motor vehicle crash. The operator eluded deputies and was not apprehended at that time. A person of interest has been developed in these cases and a multi-jurisdictional investigation is ongoing. If you have any information about these reports, please contact the Dent County Sheriff’s Office at 729-3241.
