Maty Mauk threw five touchdown passes, including four to Dorial Green-Beckham, leading ninth-ranked Missouri to a 48-17 victory over Kentucky. Mauk completed 17-of-28 passes for 203 yards, with Green-Beckham accounting for 100 yards on seven receptions. Missouri (9-1, 5-1 SEC) heads to a bye week still in control of the SEC East. The Tigers have won two in a row since a double-overtime loss to South Carolina and will close the season with a trip to Ole Miss before a visit from Texas A&M.
Riding a dominating first half, the Missouri Tigers easily took the 2013-14 season opener against the visiting Southeastern Louisiana Lions by a score of 89-53 on Friday. Mizzou shot an impressive 57.7-percent (15-26) in the first half, which included eight three-pointers. Junior Jabari Brown led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points. Missouri will host Southern Illinois on Tuesday and you can hear it on KSMO.
Kevin Shattenkirk netted the deciding goal in the middle stages of the third period, sending the St. Louis Blues past the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1, at Scottrade Center. Ryan Reaves picked up the other goal and Jaroslav Halak came up with 19 saves for the Blues, who will host the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night.
Tavon Austin scored three touchdowns on eight touches as the St. Louis Rams dominated the Indianapolis Colts, 38-8. Austin, who came into Sunday's game with just two touchdowns, returned a punt 98 yards for a score and caught TD passes of 57 and 81 yards. Kellen Clemens completed 9-of-16 passes for 247 yards for the Rams (4-6), who snapped a three-game skid. The Rams are now off this week.
