The General Election was held Tuesday and 71.80% of the registered voters totaling 6,747 people in Dent County voted. The unofficial results of the contested races are as follows:

The Missouri State Highway Patrol released their arrest reports. On Friday, November 2nd at 10:24 in the morning in Crawford County, 34 year-old William Benge of Salem was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor in Franklin County for a warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of failure to wear a seat belt, driving while suspended, no insurance and failure to wear a seat belt. He is being held in the Crawford County Jail on bond.

An accident occurred at 11:50 Tuesday morning in Dent County on Highway 32 about three miles east of Salem. According to the highway patrol report, a 1997 Mercury driven by 36-year old James Simpson of Salem was traveling on Highway 32 east, when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and a mailbox. Simpson suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to the Salem Memorial District Hospital. He was wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Mercucry sustained minor damage and was removed from the scene by Whitaker’s Towing.

An accident occurred at 3:03 Tuesday afternoon in Crawford County on Highway 19 about a mile north of Cherryville. According to the highway patrol report, a 2010 Nissan Frontier driven by 50-year old Gregory White of Salem ran off the right side of the road, struck a dirt embankment and a tree. White suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. He was wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Nissan sustained extensive damage and was towed by Mile’s and Son’s.

The Dent County Fire Protection District released their reports. On Sunday, October 28th an alarm sounded at 1:39 in the afternoon to provide manpower on Highway W and Highway EE. A total of five firefighters responded to the call and back in service at 2:27 that same afternoon. On Monday, October 29th at alarm sounded at 9:04 pm to H Highway. A total of 13 firefighters responded to the call, which was cancelled. On Wednesday, October 31st a call came in at 9:13 pm. A total of fire firefighters responded to the call to provide medical assistance. On Thursday, November 1st at 7:00 pm, a total of 10 firefighters responded to the fire station for training on Ladder #81. On Friday, November 2nd an alarm sounded at 1:21 in the afternoon for a building fire on East Center Street in Salem. A total of eight firefighters responded to the call and the fire was out on arrival. All units were back in service at 1:42 that same afternoon. On Saturday, November 3rd at 9:32 in the morning, a call came in for a brush and grass mixture fire on Highway F. A total of five firefighters responded and extinguished the fire. At 10:51 that same morning, a call came in for smoke or odor removal on South Henderson Street. A total of six firefighters responded and were back in service at 11:50 that same morning. That afternoon at 1:20 an alarm sounded for a brush and grass mixture fire on County Road 4255. A total of seven firefighters responded and established fire lines. All units were back in action at 3:05 pm. Later that day at 6:30 a totaled of four firefighters responded to the fire station and the call was cancelled while in route. On Monday, November 5th at 11:46 in the morning, a total of three firefighters responded to North Jackson Street for a medical assist of EMS crews. Mutual Aid was provided by the Salem Memorial District Hospital. That night at 7:11 pm, an alarm sounded for the Highway 72/Highway 32 West junctions. A total of 12 firefighters responded to the call for the extrication of a victim and or victims from a vehicle. Mutual Aid was provided by the Salem Memorial District Hospital and all units were back in service at 10:54 pm.

The St. Louis Cardinals have created three openings on their 40-man roster by outrighting catcher/first baseman Steven Hill, catcher Bryan Anderson, and right-hander Adam Reifer to Triple-A Memphis. In doing so, the Cardinals cleared room to begin adding free agents or Minor League players with Rule 5 Draft eligibility to their roster. The deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 Draft is November 20th.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel has stepped down as the team's defensive coordinator. Linebackers coach Gary Gibbs will take over defensive coordinator responsibilities. Crennel had served dual roles since Todd Haley was fired as the head coach on December 12. The team is just 1-7 this season and has not held a lead in regulation through eight games.

Funeral services for Goldie Lee Maylee of Rolla, age 72, will be held Thursday at 1:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Visitation will be from 11:00 until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Goldie Maylee family.

Funeral services for Eric A. Milton of Salem, age 36, will be held Friday at 11:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be Thursday night from 5:00 until 7:00. Interment will be in the Hanson-Easton Cemetery.

Funeral services for Bertha J. Rainwater of Boss will be held Saturday at 10:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 8:00. Interment will be in the West Fork Sutterfield in Boss. Memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer.

Funeral services for Paula Joan Ketterer of Rolla, age 75, will be held Saturday at 10:00 at the St. Patrick’s Church in Rolla. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla.

Graveside services for Lola Hermes of O’Fallon, age 86, will be held Sunday at 3:00 at the Lake Springs Cemetery in Lake Springs. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem.
