The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released reports. On Wednesday, October 29th at 11:08 pm, the Dent County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing juvenile female from the 3000 block of County Road 4210. An investigation was conducted and the juvenile’s information was broadcast. On Friday, October 31st the Dent County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Rolla Police Department that they had located the female juvenile. The juvenile was transported back to the Dent County Sheriff’s Office and released to the Dent County Juvenile Office. On Thursday, October 30th deputies with Dent County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 100 block of County Road 6170 in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. A result of the investigation led to the arrest of 28-year old Darrick Chapman of Salem. A search of Chapman’s person revealed a white crystalline substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Chapman is currently being held on a $20,000 cash or surety bond for possession of methamphetamine. On Friday, October 31st at 3:34 in the afternoon, a Deputy responded to the 4000 block of County Road 2050 for a report of trespassing. Upon arrival, two subjects were discovered nearby actively fleeing from the scene on foot and were apprehended. A subsequent investigation led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle. Everett Martin 27, Rolla, is currently being held at the Dent County Sheriff's Office jail on a $75,000 cash only bond for 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle. Also on Friday, October 31st, deputies responded to the 1000 block of East Scenic Rivers Blvd. for a report of defrauding a creditor. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Town and Country Bank had repossessed a vehicle and the vehicle had been stripped of all sellable parts. The vehicle was valued at $5,225. The suspect has been identified as 26-year old Brian Remster of Bunker. This investigation is ongoing.

The Dent County University of Missouri Extension Council invites residents to join the 2015-2016 group of volunteers that make Dent County a better place to live through Extension programs. Representatives will be elected in a non-partisan election January 5th-9th, 2015. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and reside in the county. Applications are due November 12th, to Dent County Extension at 112 East 5th Street in Salem, and are available by calling 729-3196, online at www.extension.missouri.edu/dent or email at dentco@missouri.edu. Designated by state statute as the official body to cooperate with the University of Missouri in delivery of Extension programs, the council has roles in programming, fiscal and personnel. The Dent County Extension Council is the local link between county residents and the University of Missouri four-campus system. Responsibilities include attending monthly meetings, identify concerns of the community to connect citizens with Extension resources, administer the county budget and assist in planning, promoting, and carrying out Extension efforts. The Salem Police Department has released their reports. On Friday, October 17th at 11:38 at night, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year old Salem male for driving while intoxicated. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released. On Sunday, October 19th at 12:06 in the early morning, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The investigation led to the arrest of a 30-year old Bunker female for driving while drugged, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and on an active arrest warrant from Crawford County. She was released on summonses to appear in court after posting bond. Early that same morning at 1:13, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year old Salem female for driving while intoxicated. She was issued a summons to appear in court and released. That night at 8:30, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. That investigation led to the arrest of a 39-year old Salem female for driving while intoxicated. She was issued a summons to appear in court and released. On Tuesday, October 21st at 12:56 in the morning, an officer made contact with a 32-year old Salem male in the 400 block of Adam Hogan Lane who had an active arrest warrant from the City of Salem. He was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending a court appearance. Early that same morning at 2:03, an officer located a 29-year old male of Collinsville, Illinois in the 800 block of North Jackson who had an active arrest warrant from Jefferson County. He was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending extradition. Then at 10:26 that same morning, an officer was detailed to Vintage Home Decor and More located at 310 North Highway 19 in reference to a burglary. The investigation revealed that someone forcibly entered the business causing $240 in property damage and took items valued at $223. That afternoon at 2:00, an officer was contacted in reference to a fraudulent attempt to obtain prescription medication. That investigation revealed the suspect forged a prescription and altered it in an attempt to receive a greater amount of a controlled substance. Anyone with info regarding the burglary or fraudulent attempt to obtain prescription medication reports, which are still under investigation, is asked to contact the Salem Police Department by calling 729-4242.

Funeral services for Billie “Cleo” Amerine of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Cherryville, age 79, will be held at 1:00 today at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Interment will be in the Martin-Trask Cemetery in Cherryville.

Funeral service for Mr. Leroy Kinder, of Licking, age 80, will be held Friday at 11:00 at the Rock Springs Church. Visitation will be tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Fox Funeral Home in Licking.

Funeral services for Gladys Payne of Rolla, age 93, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be tonight from 5:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Steelville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Steelville Cemetery.

Funeral services for Oliver W. Thoele of Salem, age 80, will be held Friday at 2:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial service for Rachael Halbert of Cadet, age 22, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be from noon until service time. Memorials may be given to the family for funeral expenses.

Funeral services for Freida M. Craine, formerly of Rolla, age 92, will be held Monday at 1:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund.

Memorial service for Eileen B. Westerholt of Salem, age 97, will be held at a later date. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem.
