The Salem Police Department released their reports involving theft and property damage. On Thursday, October 29^th at 8:00 in the morning, an officer was detailed to the 1100 block of East Center Street in reference to a theft. The report revealed that a person or persons unknown had stolen a marble fireplace mantle valued at $300 from the area of the front yard. At 11:45 that same morning, an officer was sent to the 1600 block of Odom Drive in reference to a theft. The report revealed that a person or persons unknown had stolen an undetermined amount of cash from the residence. On Friday, October 30^th at 9:40 p.m. an officer was contacted in reference to the theft of a Motorola Razor cellular phone valued at $180. The investigation revealed that the day before between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM, the cell phone was stolen from a locker at the Salem High School. On Saturday, October 31^st at 12:50 in the morning an officer was contacted in reference to property damage. The report revealed that the back glass of a vehicle was broken while parked at 200 South Highway 19. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year old Salem man for property damage, disorderly conduct and loitering. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released. Also detained was a 16-year old Salem male, who will be referred to the Juvenile Office for property damage, loitering and curfew violation. The Dent County Health Center will be holding an H1N1 flu vaccination clinic today, November 5th from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Salem Freedom Activity Center. There is no charge for the vaccinations. Both H1N1 shots and the FluMist will be available. Due to the vaccine shortage, only individuals identified as high risk by the CDC will be eligible for the vaccine.  High risk individuals include pregnant women with a doctor’s order, people who live with or care for children younger than six months of age, health care workers and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient contact, people between six months and 24 years of age, and people who are 25-64 years of age who have chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. According to the Dent County Sheriffs Department, on Friday October 30^th at 3:15 p.m. Deputy Rodney L. Lewis received a report by fax from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) located in Salem, stating that during the surplus sale on Saturday October 17^th, Robert Hector purchased five vehicles with titles totaling $33,250 on a company check from Worldwide Capital Auto Sales with his name and signature, and then he stopped payment on the check. MDC further states that their internal investigation has uncovered the following information which leads them to believe that Mr. Hector may be running a scam of some sort. Mr. Hector and an associate organized two LLC's and filed Articles of Organization on the two LLC's on December 31^st 2008, and the second on January 1^st 2009. Worldwide Capital Auto Sales, the business name on the check written by Mr. Hector, is not a business registered with the Secretary of State which would not make it a Missouri corporation or LLC. The auto dealer number Mr. Hector provided MDC at the time of purchase is actually assigned by the Department of Revenue (DOR) to GT Auto Sales operated by Greg Toalson. GT Auto Sales is registered with DOR at an address different than Mr. Hector's LLC address or the address on the face of the check. Calls to the phone number at GT Autos Sales in St. Louis have been answered by a female identifying herself as the landlord who leases property to GT Auto Sales. She reports that there are no vehicles located at the address she leases to GT Auto. The phone calls placed to numbers tracked down for Mr. Hector have gone unanswered. The information mentioned has been reported to the DOR's Criminal Investigation Bureau, and the vehicles will be flagged in their system in the event the titles are presented for reissuance by any party. The investigation is ongoing, and the five vehicles listed have been entered as stolen.

The Salem Memorial District Hospital has put a new restriction on visitors due to the flu. No one under the age of 14 will be allowed to visit a patient until further notice.

The Fulton Hornets blocked a Kevin Presley 21-yard field goal attempt with five seconds left to hold on to a 14-13 win over the Salem Tigers in the Regional game held Wednesday night. Fulton also blocked an extra point earlier in the game, and forced three Salem Tigers fumbles in the game. Salem was led by Ty Floyd with 140 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown, Derek Freeman with 105 yards on 15 rushes and Andy Kissir with 102 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown. Salem finished the season with a 7-4 record.

The St. Louis Blues will host the Calgary Flames tonight starting at 7:30. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

Hideki Matsui Matsui tied a World Series record with six RBI in one game, Andy Pettitte threw into the sixth inning for his postseason-record 18th win and New York beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3, to clinch the World Series championship in six games. Pettite allowed four hits and three runs, walked five and fanned three over 5 2/3 innings. The Phillies’ Ryan Howard set a new World Series record by striking out 13 times in the six games.

The St. Louis Rams have signed cornerback Danny Gorrer from the New Orleans Saints practice squad and waived wide receiver Tim Carter.

The Kansas City Chiefs have claimed wide receiver Chris Chambers off waivers from the San Diego Chargers, signed cornerback Travis Daniels, and placed safety Jarrad Page on the injured reserve list.
