Ameren Missouri residential customers will pay lower rates for natural gas under a new Purchased Gas Adjustment (PGA) that has been approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC). The lower rates are the result of lower wholesale natural gas supply costs. The new rate of $0.66 per one hundred cubic-feet (Ccf) of natural gas became effective November 1st. It represents an approximately 7 percent decrease in the PGA rate. Under the new PGA, an average residential customer in the Rolla system (Rolla, Salem and Owensville) will see a decrease of approximately $2.25 per month. Ameren Missouri reminds customers that they can reduce their natural gas usage by installing more efficient natural gas equipment. Visit ActOnEnergy.com for details and information about rebates for natural gas furnaces and boilers.

The Dent County Sheriff’s Department has released some incident reports for the week of October 20th. On Wednesday, October 22nd, at 5:13 in the afternoon, a deputy conducted a well being check on Highway 68 due to a hotline call that the Missouri Department of Social Services had received about the use of methamphetamine at the residence. When the deputy arrived, he found a nine-year old child at the residence alone. The deputy observed drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine in plain view inside the residence.  The deputy waited approximately 45 minutes for the mother to arrive at the property.  When the mother did not arrive, the Missouri Department of Social Services temporarily took custody of the child. At 8:50 that evening, the deputy returned to the residence to execute a search warrant. During the subsequent search, the deputies discovered methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia inside the residence. Mrs. Heather Belcher and Mr. Chase Sapaugh were both arrested and transported to the Dent County Jail where they are both being held on $20,000 cash only bonds. This information is just an accusation, and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of any charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence. Then on Saturday, October 25th at approximately 8:15 in the morning, a deputy responded to a residence on Highway 19 North in regards to a stolen vehicle. The deputy met by the owner of the vehicle who stated that his 2001 Ford Explorer had been stolen from his driveway. The vehicle was later entered into MULES as stolen. Once submitted into MULES, the Dent County Sheriff’s Office received a delayed hit notification advising that the Rolla Police Department had ran the license plates attached to the vehicle. The vehicle had been parked and unoccupied at Tim’s Used Cars in Rolla, MO. The Rolla Police Department impounded the vehicle until it could be processed by the Dent County Sheriff’s Office Detective. The investigation is ongoing.

The season came to an end for the Salem Football Tigers at the hands of the Mountain Grove Panthers Friday night in the second round of District play by the final score of 39 to 13 at Mountain Grove. Zak Eplin threw for two touchdowns of 52 and 65 yards to Paul McClain for the only Salem scores. The Tigers finished with a 4-7 record overall.

Maty Mauk threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Missouri Tigers take care of the Kentucky Wildcats, 20-10, in an SEC clash at Faurot Field. Mauk, who ran for a game-high 75 yards on 14 carries, completed 18-of-33 pass attempts for the Tigers (7-2, 4-1 SEC), who have won three straight games. Bud Sasser caught six passes, including the two touchdowns, for a total of 67 yards. Missouri will have a bye this Saturday before playing at Texas A&M on November 15th.

Joakim Lindstrom scored in the second round of the shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues over the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, on Saturday. Vladimir Tarasenko scored a pair of goals for the Blues, who have won four in a row. Brian Elliott made 27 saves and stopped Gabriel Landeskog, Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly in the shootout. The Blues will be on the road tonight in New York to face the Rangers starting at 5:30 with the pregame show on KSMO Radio.

Michael Crabtree rolled out-of-bounds inside the 1-yard line and Colin Kaepernick fumbled on the goal line with 10 seconds left, as the St. Louis Rams went into Levi's Stadium and stunned the San Francisco 49ers 13-10 on Sunday. The Rams defense played as well as it had all season, sacking Kaepernick eight times and holding the 49ers to 3-of-12 on third down. The Rams and Cardinals play Sunday.

Alex Smith threw two touchdown passes and the Kansas City Chiefs handed the New York Jets their eighth straight defeat with a 24-10 victory. Smith completed 21-of-31 passes for 199 yards for the Chiefs (5-3), who have won three in a row. The Chiefs play the Bills on Sunday.

The Kansas City Royals have declined the option on the contract of Billy Butler, making the designated hitter a free agent. Butler has spent his entire eight-year career with the Royals and went through the difficult times with the club before this season's surprising run to the American League pennant. He was 11-for-42 in the postseason, which ended with a Game 7 loss to San Francisco in the World Series. The 28-year-old veteran hit just nine home runs in 2014 and drove in 66 runs while batting .271. Seven other Royals filed for free agency and they include outfielder Norichika Aoki, pitchers Scott Downs, Jason Frasor, Luke Hochevar and James Shields, designated hitter Raul Ibanez and utility infielder Josh Willingham.

The St. Louis Cardinals exercised their contract option on starting pitcher John Lackey for the 2015 season on Thursday. Lackey, who was acquired from Boston at the trade deadline, will earn the league minimum $500,000 in 2015 after making $15.25 million in each of the last three seasons. Five Cardinals filed for free agency after the World Series. Those five players are infielder Mark Ellis, pitchers Justin Masterson, Jason Motte and Pat Neshek and catcher A.J. Pierzynski.
