The Kansas City Royals needed a big inning and got it. A day after beginning their first World Series in 29 years with a whimper, the American League champions produced a bang. Omar Infante's two-run homer punctuated a five-run sixth inning that propelled the Kansas City Royals to a 7-2 win over the San Francisco Giants in Game 2 on Wednesday. Billy Butler and Salvador Perez each added two runs batted in while Royals rookie Yordano Ventura went five-plus innings while giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out two. Game 3 of the World Series will be Friday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Jeremy Guthrie will take the mound for the Royals while veteran Tim Hudson will be pitch for the Giants. First pitch is again set for 7:07 that night.
The St. Louis Blues will host the Vancouver Canucks tonight at the Scottrade Center. The Blues are 2-3 on the year and you can hear the game on KSMO Radio starting with the pre-game show at 6:30 tonight.
The Salem Football Tigers will be at St. James for the first round of District play Friday night starting at 7:00. Salem and St. James enter the game with identical 3-6 records. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com.
