The Salem Police Department released more reports. On Friday, September 27^th at 12:36 in the afternoon, an officer was detailed to Ron's Detail on Highway 32 West in reference to a stolen vehicle. The investigation revealed that someone stole a green 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier from the lot. The vehicle was located and recovered on October 1^st at the South Side Shopping Plaza in Rolla. Two suspects, a 20-year old female of Rolla and a 47-year old male of Freeburg, were taken into custody in connection with the theft. On Sunday, September 29^th at 1:02 in the early morning, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of South Highway 19 in reference to a theft. The investigation revealed that someone entered a residence and took ten dollars cash and a laptop computer valued at $400. At 1:41 that same morning, an officer was dispatched to Casey's General Store on Highway 32 East in reference to a shoplifter. That investigation led to the arrest of a 40-year old Salem female for stealing merchandise, valued at $95.48, and possession of heroin. She was incarcerated pending the application for a warrant. Later that evening at 6:39, an officer was contacted at the Salem Police Department in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The investigation revealed that someone entered a vehicle near the 200 block of West Hunt and took documents, a smart phone, and a wallet valued at $25,395. Later that same night at 10:08, a 35-year old Salem female was transported to the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains in lieu of a mental commitment order. On Monday, September 30^th at 5:05 in the morning, an officer was dispatched to the Ranch Motel in reference to someone going through vehicles. The investigation revealed that a male wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans was getting into vehicles and a resident attempted to confront the suspect. The suspect fled the scene and it was found that items, valued at $380, had been removed from a vehicle. The items were later located near the scene where the suspect had fled. Later that day at 3:47, a vehicle was stopped for an investigation of an active arrest warrant. The investigation of the stop led to the arrest of a 32-year old Salem male on an active arrest warrant from the City of Salem. He was incarcerated pending a court appearance. On Tuesday, October 1^st at 9:50 in the morning, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 200 block of South Warfel in reference damage to a vehicle. That investigation revealed that someone cut the upholstery of a gray 1996 Chevrolet Lumina causing damages valued at $600. At 12:06 that afternoon, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to a theft. That investigation revealed that someone took $447 in cash from a residence in the 300 block of North Walker. Later that night at 8:10, an officer was investigating suspected narcotics activity at a residence in the 900 block of South Oak. The investigation led to the arrest of a 26-year old Salem male for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, a 46-year old Salem female for possession of marijuana, and a 56-year old Salem male for disorderly conduct. They were issued summons to appear in court and released. There is no better way to spend a wonderful autumn weekend than attending Old Iron Works Day’s. The two-day event will be held this weekend at the beautiful Maramec Spring Park, which is located six miles southeast of St. James. Crafts will be demonstrated continuously during the two-day event. Displays and other activities will be ongoing each day. This big event gets started at noon on Saturday. The Ozark Rounders Bluegrass Band will be performing from 1:00-2:00 and 4:00-5:00. The Ozark Spirit Cloggers will be on stage from 2:00-2:30 and 3:30-4:00. The Open Range Bluegrass Band will perform from 2:30-3:30. On Sunday, activities open at noon.
