The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released their reports involving a domestic disturbance, burglary, traffic stop and property damage. On September 18th at 9:15 in the evening, the department received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence located off of Dent County Road 2020. The investigation led to the 12-Hour Rule being imposed. On September 28th the department received a report of a burglary located at a residence off of Dent County Road 6220. The incident was reported to have occurred between June 19th and September 28th. The residence was unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry. Reported taken were five sleeping bags, a boombox, microwave oven, five gallons of gasoline, a push lawn mower, and miscellaneous hand tools. The microwave oven and push lawn mower were recovered in a wooded area near the entry gate. On September 28th at 5:08 in the evening, a Dent County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a brake light not working. The investigation led to the Salem Police Department K-9 unit being called in for assistance. The K-9 gave a positive alert on the vehicle. Located in a back pack were two brown strips containing LSD, two pink colored tablets and one peach colored tablet identified as Xanax and Adderall.  As a result of the search, a 19-year old female was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with bond set at $10,000.00. On September 29th at 8:20 in the morning, the Department received a report from a resident located off of Dent County Road 4110 concerning damage to their mailbox, which occurred between midnight and 8:20 that morning. While in the area another resident also reported damage to a mailbox occurring at the same time. Several other boxes on Dent County Road 4110 were also damaged. Anyone with any information regarding the burglary or property damage reports, which are still under investigation, is asked to please contact the Dent County Sheriff’s office by calling 729-3241.The Salem Police Department released their reports involving assault and disorderly conduct. On September 21st at 8:30 in the evening, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to an assault. The investigation of the report revealed a 50-year old Salem female assaulted a 20 year-old Salem male. The report is under investigation.  On September 23rd at 8:40 in the morning, an officer was dispatched to the Salem High School reference to an assault. The investigation of the report led to the detention of a 15-year old male juvenile and a 16-year old female juvenile both of Salem, for disorderly conduct. The juveniles were released to their parents and the report will be forwarded to the juvenile officer for further review. On September 23rd at 12:11 in the afternoon, an officer was detailed to the 100 block of East Third in reference to a fight in progress. Investigation of the report led to the arrest of a 27-year old male and a 26-year old female both of Salem, for disorderly conduct. Both suspects were issued summons to appear in court and released. On September 24th at 8:40 in the morning, an officer was detailed to the Salem High School reference to an assault. That investigation led to the detention of three 15-year old female juveniles and one 16-year old female juvenile all of Salem for assault. The juveniles were released to their parents and the report will be forwarded to the juvenile officer.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to the Rolla Lady Bulldogs Monday night in two straight games, 25-23 and 25-12. The JV did win their match, winning the first game, 25-15, losing the second game, 25-22, and then winning the third game, 25-15.

The “S-CLUB” sponsored Macho-Mania Boys Volleyball game will be held Thursday, October 9th in the High School gym. The first game will start at 7:00 PM as the sophomores, coached by Kristy Bermudez and Alayna Sellers, will take on the juniors, coached by Rachel Sirois and Jenna Cartwright. The winner will then play the seniors, coached by Hannah Kettner and Jessica Brand, for this year’s “braggin’ rights.” Come on out and support the Tigers. The admission for the event is $1.00 for everyone.

The St. Louis Blues will host the Toronto Maple Leafs in a pre-season game tonight at 7:30. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio. The St. Louis Blues have assigned defenseman Andy Wozniewski and forwards Matt Foy, Charles Linglet, Steve Regier, Trent Whitfield and Brad Winchester to Peoria. The regular season opens on Friday, October 10th.

John Danks dominated for eight innings, and Jim Thome's solo homer in the seventh was all the offense Chicago needed, as the White Sox edged the Minnesota Twins 1-0 on Tuesday in a one-game playoff to decide the American League Central title. They will face the Tampa Bay Rays starting on Thursday.

St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger was named the starter for the remainder of the season by new head coach Jim Haslett on Tuesday. The move comes one day after Haslett replaced Scott Linehan, who was let go amid a dismal 0-4 start to the season.  Haslett also revealed that tight end Randy McMichael will miss at least eight weeks after suffering a broken tibia.

Funeral services for Ruth Carmack of Steelville, age 81, will be held this afternoon at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Interment will be in the Schwieder Cemetery in Steelville. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral services for Pearlie Lorraine Fitchhorn of Salem, age 88, will be held this afternoon at 2:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salem Faith Assembly.

A memorial visitation will be held today from 4:00 to 8:00 for Bradley Edward Brawner, Jr. of Steelville, age 18, at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville.

Memorial services for Jonathan Ray Wood of Bunker, age 39, will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 at the Wilson Mortuary Chapel in Salem. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time. Memorials are suggested to the Crossville Baptist Church in Bunker.

Funeral services for Margie McCay of Salem, age 82, will be held Friday at 10:00 at the Victor Baptist Church in Anutt. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Fox Funeral Home in Licking. Interment will be in the Anutt Cemetery.

Funeral services for Milton Lavern Camden of Lenox, age 75, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Boss Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Interment will be in the Boss Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Boss Cemetery.

Funeral services for Louis “Westerman” Hubbs of Salem, age 89, will be held Friday at 2:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Dry Fork Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Dry Fork Cemetery.

Funeral services for Geneva Marie Scott of Viburnum, age 90, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 on Friday. Interment will be in the Shoal Creek Cemetery.
