The Dent County Commissioners gathered at the Dent County Courthouse Thursday morning for their regular meeting. In the road report, District 1 Commissioner Dennis Purcell indicated materials would be added to and grading done on Dent County Roads 5650 and 6660. He also reported that materials would be added to county roads 5130 and 5150 and brush would be cit on county roads 4220 and 5170. The District had only $196,164 available and funded four applications in full including one from the City of Salem for $22,808.80 to maintain its recycling program that is open to everyone county wide. Two applications for Maries County and one from Phelps County was also funded fully, while nine other applications received partial funding and one application did not receive any funding. Skiles said the city would be hosting another special electronics and tire collection this year on October 18th at 3rd and Grand Streets. The commissioners unanimously voted to vacate the roads and the county signs will be removed from the roads. At 10:00, the commissioners went into closed session to meet with Dennis Lockwood from the State Auditors Office about their recent audit.
