The board approved the consent agenda that showed an increase in sales tax revenues of $391 from the previous year August totals to $135.897.93. City Clerk Mary Happel reported on the Planning and Zoning Board meeting held last Thursday night to discuss a Reviewed Use for the operation of a Day Care Center at 203 South Hickory by Eric and Jackie Schafer. The request had been denied on August 20th, but the Schafers met with the neighbors and reached an understanding, so the Planning and Zoning Board recommended to approved the Reviewed Use. The board of aldermen agreed and approved the request.  Mayor Gary Brown went over some traffic counts in the city and reported that on the west side of the Highway 32-72 and 19 intersection, 12,728 cars go through that area each day. The mayor said that MoDOT may want to make it a one year lease with the property then being conveyed to the city.
