The Missouri State Highway Patrol released several arrest reports for Dent County. On Monday, September 5th at 8:35 at night, 23-year old Onalea Wilson of Sikeston was arrested on a felony Scott County warrant for a probation violation. She was taken to the Dent County Jail. On Friday, September 9th at 9:20 in the morning, 19-year old Arron Anderson of Salem was arrested on a misdemeanor Salem Police Department warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Dent County Jail. On Sunday, September 11th at 8:38 at night, 35-year old Leah Happel of Salem was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while having their license revoked. She was taken to the Dent County Jail and later released. Later that night at 9:06, 48-year old Robert Simmons of Salem was arrested on two felony counts of assault and a felony count of leaving scene of an accident. He was taken to the Dent County Jail and put on a 24-hour hold.

The Salem Police Department released their reports involving a traffic stop, a mental commitment order, theft, property damage, a domestic disturbance and damage to a vehicle. On Thursday, September 1st at 7:36 am, an officer was sent to the 900 block of East Center in reference to property damage. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown apparently used a BB gun to shoot out the back glass of a 2000 Oldsmobile van that was parked in a driveway.  The value of the damaged glass is about $500. At 7:42 that same morning, an officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of West Coffman in reference to property damage. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown apparently used a BB gun to shoot out the driver side glass window of a 98 GMC Sierra.  The value of the damage is approximately $189. That afternoon at 1:43, an officer was detailed to the 100 block of West First in reference to an auto theft. That investigation revealed an unidentified male took a silver 1997 Chevrolet truck valued at $10,000. Further investigation led to the recovery of the vehicle in Phelps County where it had been run into a creek bed.  The suspect, a 30-year old Doolittle male, was taken into custody nearby and was incarcerated pending the application for warrants. On Saturday, September 3rd at 9:50 in the morning, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Molly Lane in reference to a domestic disturbance. The investigation of the report revealed that a 30-year old Salem male had assaulted a 33-year old female of Nashville, Tennessee. Further investigation led to his arrest and he was later released. The report will be forwarded to the prosecutor for further review. At 2:41 that afternoon, an officer was sent to Wal-Mart in reference to damage to a vehicle. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown scratched down the drivers side of a black 2007 Nissan Sentra causing approximately $500.00 of damage to the paint of the vehicle. On Monday, September 5th at 9:49 in the morning, an officer was detailed to the 200 block of North Askins in reference to property damage to a vehicle. That investigation revealed that a person or persons unknown scratched the paint on the passenger side of a green 2006 Ford Focus. The value of that damage is about $800. Anyone with any information regarding the property damage, theft or damage to vehicles reports, which are still under investigation, is asked to contact the Salem Police Department by calling 729-4242.

The University of Missouri Wurdack Farm at Cook Station, will host a Management Intensive Grazing School on Thursday, September 29th and Friday, September 30th. The two-day program will include guest speakers covering the topics of grazing system layout and design, watering systems, fence systems, soil fertility, livestock nutrition and forage quality and growth. Additionally, two farm tours will be included to allow participants to get hand on experience, and observe existing grazing systems. The cost of the two-day school is $85 per person of $120 per farm couple. This fee includes the cost of meals and the Resource books and other handout materials pertinent to the course. A $50 advance deposit will be required to reserve a space, and must be received by no later than Friday, September 23rd. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers drubbed the Lady War Hawks of Bourbon Tuesday by the score of 15-1 in five innings. It is the second straight win by that score for Salem who improves to 8-4 on the year. The Salem JV Tigers won by the final score of 12-2. The Lady Tigers will be at Steelville tomorrow at 4:30.

Nick Punto's go-ahead RBI double in the top of the ninth vaulted the Cardinals to a 6-4 victory over the Pirates in the middle contest of a three-game series. Kyle McClellan (11-6) recorded the final out in the bottom of the eighth to earn the win and Jason Motte stranded a runner in scoring position in the ninth to notch his sixth save of the season. St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter allowed four runs on 10 hits over seven innings. The Cards and Pirates play this morning on KSMO at 11:00.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have agreed with starting pitcher Chris Carpenter on a two-year contract extension through the 2013 season. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the deal is worth about $21 million. Carpenter is pitching in his eighth season with the Cardinals. The 36-year-old right-hander won a Cy Young with St. Louis in 2005 and helped the Cardinals to the 2006 World Series title. In 343 career games, including 325 starts, Carpenter has a mark of 142-92 with a 3.79 ERA.

Alex Gordon had three hits, including a solo home run and an RBI single, while Mike Moustakas added a solo homer and Melky Cabrera clubbed a double for the Royals who beat Minnesota, 4-0. Bruce Chen was brilliant on Tuesday, throwing eight shutout innings giving up only two hits while fanning eight and walking one. The Royals and Twins play again today.

Graveside services for Evelyn Marie Stuck of Rolla, age 86, will be held Wednesday at 11:30 at the Lake Spring Cemetery in Lake Springs. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 at the James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Interment will be in the Lake Spring Cemetery.

Funeral services for Gary Lee Carroll Sr. of St. James, age 59, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis. Visitations will be held Thursday night from 5:00 to 7:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla and on Friday from 11:00 until time of service at the Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis. Interment will be in the St. Marcus Cemetery in St. Louis.

Funeral services for Virginia R. Wilson of Salem, age 58, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 until time of service. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
