Seth Smith capped an improbable nine-run rally in the ninth inning with a game-ending three-run homer, and the Colorado Rockies recorded their largest ninth-inning comeback in franchise history with a 12-9 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Ryan Franklin surrendered two home runs and six earned runs in the ninth inning in taking the loss. He is 3-1 on the year. Matt Holliday hit a three-run homer against his former team for St. Louis, which has lost four of six. Felipe Lopez added a two-run shot and three RBI in defeat. Blake Hawksworth started for St. Louis and lasted five innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and four walks while fanning five. The Cards and Rockies will play again tonight starting at 7:20 on KSMO Radio.
Zack Greinke pitched seven dominant innings and Wilson Betemit drove in all of Kansas City's runs, as the Royals held on to edge the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, in the middle contest of a three-game series. Greinke (5-8) gave up an unearned run on two hits and two walks, and fanned nine in the win. Blake Wood allowed a run in the eighth, but Joakim Soria closed the contest in the ninth for his 24th save. Betemit's run-scoring single in the eighth stood as the game-deciding hit. He finished with three hits for the Royals, who took the series, having also triumphed in Monday's opener. Kansas City has won its last four series. The two teams will play again tonight.

The Salem Lady Tiger Softball Summer Camp will he held July 12th thru 15th and July 19th thru 22nd from 8:00 am to 11:00 am for girl's entering 9th through 12 grades and from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm for girl's entering 6th through 8th grades.
