The small skirmish reenactment planned by Garrett Gable and Mike Roderman after the Skirmish of Inman Hollow Ceremony at 10:00 this Saturday morning at the Upper Parker Community Church has been cancelled because of the fire danger risk and the Dent County Commission’s Burn Ban. The re-enactors, instead of doing the re-enactment, will demonstrate their Civil War weaponry and tell about the Civil War Skirmishes and troop activities during the 1860’s answering questions from their encampment tents after the ceremony. Come prior to the ceremony and talk to the re-enactors about your Civil War treasurers. All other Skirmish at Inman Hollow Activities and the Ceremony will continue as planned starting with the encampment where the Demonstrations will take place after the Ceremony. Viewing of Kent Nichols’s Documentary Civil War in the Ozarks: Battle for Dent County; Suzanne Chilton, Re-enactor and Storyteller – “Chilton Mill and Current River;” and Joan Flatt, Vice President, Dent County Historical Society, Storyteller – “Bushwhackers.” For more information call Deloris Gray Wood, president of the Dent County Historical Society and chairman of the event at 729-2545.
