The Salem Police Department released their reports involving property damage, theft, trespassing and burglary. On June 12^th at 9:00 PM, an officer was detailed to the 1200 block of Highway 32 in reference to property damage. The report revealed that person(s) unknown broke a double pane glass out of a metal frame door. The damage is valued at $700 and the report is under investigation. On June 16^th at 6:19 PM, an officer was detailed to the Salem City Park in reference to the theft of a purse. The report revealed that person(s) unknown took a purse from the pavilion. Further investigation led to the recovery near the wood line on the north end of the park of the purse and contents minus $22 cash. The report is under investigation. On June 21^st at 4:35 PM, an officer was detailed to the 200 block of East Fourth Street in reference to property damage. The report revealed that person(s) unknown cut the sidewall of a tire. The tire is valued at $150 and the report is under investigation. On June 25^th at 7:03 PM, an officer was detailed to the 1800 block of South Oak in reference to trespassing. The report led to the arrest of a 27-year old female and a 17-year old female both of Salem for 1^st degree trespassing. Both were issued summons to appear in court and released. At 10:08 PM June 25^th, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 300 block of East Franklin in reference to a burglary. The report revealed that person(s) unknown entered a residence by force, took $200 cash and damaged the property. The report is under investigation. The Salem Police Department have also released their reports involving fights and disorderly conduct. On June 16^th at 11:06, an officer was detailed to the 900 block of East Center Street in reference to a fight. The report led to the arrest of a 19-year old Salem male for assault and disorderly conduct. A 17-year old Salem male was also placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order of a police officer, and a 21-year old Salem male was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. All were issued summons to appear in court and released. On June 17^th at 10:37 PM, an officer was detailed to the intersection of Highway 19 and Third Street in reference to a fight in progress. The reported revealed that a 30-year old male from Licking had assaulted a 33-year old Salem female. He was arrested for 2^nd degree assault, refusal to obey a lawful order of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He was incarcerated pending the application for warrants. On June 21^st at 8:16 PM, an officer was detailed to the 300 block of East Bryan in reference to a domestic disturbance. The report led to the arrest of a 26-year old Salem female for disorderly conduct. She was incarcerated and issued a summons to appear in court upon her release. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced the chip seal treatment planned for Route EE in Phelps County, from Route B to the end of state maintenance, has been postponed due to weather delays on projects scheduled ahead of these routes. This work was originally planned for July 2nd and 3rd. An announcement will be made as soon as a new date has been set. The City of Salem Finance Committee will meet this afternoon at 1:00 for a public meeting to discuss the 2007/2008 fiscal year budget. Immediately following that meeting, the City of Salem Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting immediately after the Finance Committee meeting to consider the approval of the 2007/2008 budget, along with ordinance #3101 which would officially adopt the budget. The Board will also consider a trailer court license approval. The meeting will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at 1:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

After completing a second day of competition at the National Senior Games in Louisville, Kentucky, the Missouri team finished first in their pool. The first round paired up two of the strongest remaining teams, Missouri and Texas (National Champs two of the last three National Senior Olympics). In a hard fought game Texas edged Missouri 41-38. The single elimination part of the tournament began yesterday. The Missouri team made it through Tennessee and New York to make the final eight teams left in the tournament. All other teams have been eliminated from the field, except the final eight. Missouri will play two games today with the first game against Connecticut. Missouri team members include Larry Sexton, Charles Pace, Mike Goyvai, Steve Hauck, and Randy Noll.

David Wright hit a two-run homer and Tom Glavine allowed just one hit as the New York Mets recorded a 2-0 victory over the St, Louis Cardinals in a rain-shortened affair at Shea Stadium. Glavine (7-5) picked up win No. 297, retiring the final 13 batters he faced, and is now three wins away from becoming the 22nd pitcher all-time to reach the 300-win plateau. The left-hander struck out one and walked two over six innings. St. Louis starting pitcher Anthony Reyes (0-10) was putting together his best start of the season, before Mother Nature interrupted. He had allowed just two runs on two hits -- both in the first inning -- striking out three and walking two. Reyes has now dropped 10 straight decisions this season and 12 in a row dating back to the 2006 regular season, tying Bill Kissinger's franchise record set from 1896-97. Scott Rolen had the only hit for the Cardinals, who have lost two of the first three games of this four-game set. The two teams play again tonight at 5:50 on KSMO Radio.

Mark Teahen's RBI single in the third accounted for the only run of the contest as Kansas City edged Los Angeles, 1-0, in the finale of a three-game series. Jorge De La Rosa (5-9) scattered 10 hits over six shutout innings, while Joey Gathright singled and scored for the Royals, who swept the series and have won a season-high four straight games. Joakim Soria hurled a perfect eighth, and Octavio Dotel retired the side in order in the ninth to pick up his eighth save of the season. It was KC's first shutout win of the season, and the club's first blanking of an opponent since September 5, 2006 over the Yankees. The Royals have the day off today.

St. Louis Rams have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with wide receiver Derek Stanley.

Funeral services for Joseph Crocker of Viburnum, age 45, will be held Friday at 1:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be today from 5:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Sam Crocker Cemetery, Goodland Mo.

A memorial service for Marvin George Hargus of Rolla, age 63, will be Friday at 2:00 at the First Assembly of God Church in Rolla. All the arrangements are under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla.

Graveside services for Don Fox of Licking, age 60, will be held Sunday at 2:00 at the Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Fox Funeral Home in Licking. Memorials may be made to the Texas County Library-Licking Branch.
