The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released their report involving stealing. On June 20th at 9:34 in the evening, the department received a report of a stolen Troy Built power washer from a residence located off of HH Highway. The resident stated the power washer had been sitting in his driveway and he heard his dog barking. Upon looking outside he noticed a male subject who had just loaded something in his van and was closing the door. Information provided by the resident to the deputy led to an address in the city of Salem. The Dent County Sheriff’s Department furnished the information to the Salem Police Department and this led to the recovery of the power washer and the arrest of the suspect. As a result a 37-year old male was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant with charges pending for stealing.

An accident occurred Monday morning at 12:30 in Dent County on County Road 411 about five miles north of Salem. The Ford then ran off the right side of the road where it struck a utility pole. Hill suffered serious injuries and was transported by the Salem Ambulance to the Salem Memorial District Hospital. Hill was not wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Ford was totaled and removed from the scene by Whitaker Towing of Salem.

Shawn Green's homer in the 11th inning lifted the New York Mets over the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1, in the opener of a four- game set at Shea Stadium. Green's homer was just the third hit of the game and first since Carlos Gomez led off the third inning with a homer for New York, which has won a season- high tying four in a row after losing 13 of 16 games. The blast came off Russ Springer (3-1), who came on to start the inning, and made a winner of Aaron Heilman (6-3). The right-hander tossed a one-hit top of the inning. So Taguchi had one of eight hits for the Cardinals and drove in the only run, as St. Louis has lost two straight and three of four. Taguchi ended 1-for-5 to extend his career-high hitting streak to 17 games. The Cardinals got a strong start on the mound from newcomer Mike Maroth. The left-hander, who was acquired on Friday from the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later, allowed just one run on two hits, striking out four and walking two, over 7 1/3 innings. The Cards and Mets will play again tonight on KSMO Radio starting at 5:50 with the Dugout Show.

John Thomson outdueled 10-game winner John Lackey in his season debut, as Kansas City downed the Angels, 5-3, in the first installment of a three-game series. Thomson (1-0) won for the first time since donning a Braves uniform against San Diego on May 24, 2006. The right-hander gave up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits over seven innings. The Royals jumped on Lackey for a four-spot in the second by playing small ball. Alex Gordon and Ryan Shealy hit consecutive one-out singles then Jason LaRue knocked in Gordon with a base hit to right. Joey Gathright was plunked by a pitch with two outs then David DeJesus' single chased home a pair of runners and Gathright sprinted all the way around from first after Guerrero's throw wasn't handled by Mike Napoli at the plate.
