The Dent County Commissioners met for their regular meeting Thursday morning at the Dent County Courthouse. At the meeting, District 1 Commissioner Bobby Simpson reported that grading would be done on Dent County Roads 5110, 5130, 6280 and 6283, and patching would be done on various chip and seal roads throughout the district. Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles reported that he attended an Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management meeting on Tuesday in St. James. At the meeting, the board stated that they are going to start contacting counties and asking them how many tires they have to get rid of before they bring a trailer to collect the tires, because it’s too costly to make the trip for just a few tires. Kelly Parker and Mark Weaver came by to finish up the paperwork that was involved with the counties purchase of their office building. The Commission also discussed with Parker the possibility of certain offices moving from the Judicial Building to the new office space. The issue of moving the Juvenile Office was brought up, because it was mentioned that it might cost up to $15,000 to move the Juvenile Offices computer system from its current location, but Parker said he would check into that before a decision is made. The next meeting of the Commission will be Monday morning at 9:00 and that meeting will be open to the public.
