Intercounty Electric Cooperative General Manager Dwayne Cartwright said that $1.5 million in capital credit checks was approved by the Board of Directors and were mailed June 6th. During the Intercounty Radio Program Tuesday, he said that refunds amounting to 33% of the patronage capital for the year of 1995 have been issued to those current and former members of Intercounty Electric that had service in 1995. Cartwright said that last year, Intercounty returned almost 3.5 million dollars to their customers from the Capital Credit checks in June and the discounts issued in December of 2010. Public Affairs Specialist Leiza Stilley said that a list of unclaimed Capital Credit checks has been published in the June issue of the Rural Missouri Magazine and is also available online at www.ieca.coop. If you had service with Intercounty Electric in the past, please contact them to update your current address so that you will receive your Capital Credit checks in the future. If you locate a name that you know from the list of outstanding Capital Credit checks in the Rural Missouri Magazine, please contact that person and tell them to get in touch with Intercounty Electric so that the check can be issued to them at their correct address. The Salem R-80 Board of Education will conduct their monthly meeting tonight at the R-80 administrative boardroom beginning at 6:00 pm. After approval of the agenda, the Board will move to go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing legal action. The Board will then adjourn and move back into regular session. After approval of the consent agenda and communications, Superintendent Cindy Rumpf will address summer school and give a facilities update. In old business, the Board will approve propane bids. In new business, there will be a Kids Hope USA presentation, the Board will revise the 2010/2011 budget, address a resolution for WADA 5% transfer, consider a Promethean Board bid and set tuition rates for the 2011/2012 school year. The Board will then consider approval of the 2011/2012 budget, address non-resident student(s), approve the Developmental Preschool Building Lease, approve Board policies (seclusion, isolation, restraint), and consider the renewal of the TCRC support. There will then be the selection of the BOE committee assignments, the Board will declare surplus property, approve the A+ Handbook and address resignations. The Board will then adjourn and move into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing student discipline and personnel. The regular monthly meeting of the Salem R-80 Board of Education is open to the public.

On Wednesday, June 15, at approximately 8:15 in the morning, two men were arrested for Possession of Child Pornography in Rolla on warrants from the Circuit Court of Phelps County, Missouri. The arrests were made as result of the investigation by the South Central Missouri Computer Crimes Task Force, and the Rolla Police Department’s Division of Criminal Investigations. Arrested were 22-year old Broderick J. Weldy of Rolla, and 43-year old Michael A. Carr of Rolla. They are both being held in the Phelps County Jail in lieu of a $50,000.00 bond. The charges are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The South Central Missouri Computer Crime Task Force is comprised of investigators from various agencies including the Dent County Sheriff’s Office, Rolla Police Department and Phelps County Sheriff’s Office. The South Central Missouri Computer Crime Task Force provides services to Dent, Pulaski, Phelps, Crawford, Iron, Reynolds, Shannon, Texas, and Washington Counties. The Task Force provides investigative and technology expertise to assist law enforcement in South Central Missouri in the investigation and prosecution of cases where digital evidence may be involved, particularly crimes against children.

The Dent County Sheriff reports that on June 5^th, deputies responded to the 800 block of Dent County Road 3030 for a report of harassment that came in 6:34 in the evening. Upon their arrival at 7:10 that night, deputies discovered that two females from Salem were the reported victims of continued harassing phone calls. As a result of the investigation, suspect information was obtained and a 26-year old male from Salem was advised to cease and desist or face criminal charges.

Livan Hernandez's shutout performance dazzled St. Louis, as the Washington Nationals took a commanding 10-0 victory over the Cardinals in the second game of a three-game set. Hernandez (4-8) gave up just three hits and walked none for the Nationals, who have won five straight games. Jon Jay went 2-for-3 and Ryan Theriot was 1-for-3 to tally the only hits for St. Louis, which has now lost five straight. Kyle McClellan (6-2) was tagged with the loss for the Cardinals after being activated from the 15-day disabled list before the game. McClellan surrendered five runs, three of which were earned, on seven hits in five innings of work. The Cards and Nationals will finish out their three game series tonight at 5:30 on KSMO Radio.

When the Cardinals activated pitcher Kyle McClellan from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, they optioned infielder Matt Carpenter to Triple-A Memphis.

Josh Outman pitched seven scoreless frames, and Oakland mustered just enough offense to edge Kansas City, 2-1, in the middle contest of a three-game set at the Coliseum. Luke Hochevar (4-7) was the hard-luck loser after giving up only two runs on five hits with a pair of walks in seven frames. Alex Gordon drove in the lone run for the Royals, who saw their brief two-game winning streak come to an end. Kansas City's Melky Cabrera and Alcides Escobar had two and three hits, respectively. The Royals and A's will play the rubber game of the series this afternoon in Oakland.
