The Dent County Fire Protection District Board of Directors held their monthly meeting last Tuesday night at the fire station. After approval of the agenda, the minutes were reviewed from the last meeting and approved, bills were discussed and approved and during the reimbursement review it was noted that a total of 34 fire calls came in during the month of April. In old business, Chief Brad Nash presented the Board with several different templates for regulations and suggestions for a policy for usage of the district facilities. After discussion, the Board decided to form a committee composed by Board member Liz Gruendel as Chairperson, Assistant Chief Dennis Floyd, Officer David Siler and Board President Grant Hamlet, to research and review options. That Board will report back to the Directors at the next meeting. In new business, Liz Gruendel took the floor to talk about completing the district facilities updates and improvements. Chief Nash then reported that the officer replacement was in progress. Nash also reported that the inventory was still in the works. He also reported on the possibility of hosting the required class for Board members. It was agreed that Missouri University would provide the class if 15 people could be acquired.
