The Salem Tiger Baseball Tournament that was scheduled for April 13th and 14th has been rescheduled for this Saturday. Licking, Iberia and St. James will participate in the tournament starting tomorrow morning at high school baseball field complex.

Ross Gload went 4-for-4 with two runs batted in and three runs scored as the Kansas City Royals closed out a four- game set with the LA Angels of Anaheim with a 5-2 win at Kauffman Stadium. Billy Butler had two hits and drove in a run and John Buck and Tony Pena each had an RBI for the Royals, who took the last two games after dropping the first two contests in the series. Gil Meche (3-1) was solid in the start as he was charged with just two runs on two hits with a walk and six strikeouts in seven innings of work. Brandon Duckworth pitched a flawless eighth inning and Joakim Soria got his fifth save pitching the ninth inning. Kansas City continues its 10-game home stand as it will host Detroit for a three-game series starting tonight.
The Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Reggie Sanders on the 15-day disabled list with a tear in his left hamstring. Sanders, who leads the Royals with a .367 batting average, suffered the injury while running the bases after hitting a double against the Angels on Wednesday. Kansas City recalled outfielder Shane Costa from Triple-A Omaha to take his spot.
