The Dent County Commissioners held their regular meeting at the Dent County Courthouse Monday morning.  At the meeting Commissioner Bobby Simpson reported that all District 1 crew members were hauling material and replacing culverts on the Cedar Grove Road to prepare it for chip and seal.  Simpson said the National Park Service is also hauling material and replacing culverts on the road.  Commissioner J.J. Tune reported that grading would be done on Dent County Road 250 and in the Hidden Valley Subdivision on Dent County Roads 428 and 429B.  Tune said grading would also be done on the Golf Course Road to prepare it for chip and seal.  Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles reported that he would be attending a Meramec Emergency Planning Committee meeting Wednesday in St. James. Mary Jane Mason stopped by the meeting to express her concerns about a tail-ditch that was dug on her property.  Mason said the ditch was dug 60 feet onto her property without permission.  Commissioner Tune said he would look at the ditch and would have it filled in if it is unnecessarily long, but also explained that tail-ditches are necessary to prevent water from overflowing roads and washing them out.  The next meeting of the Commissioners will be Thursday morning at 9:00 and the meeting is open to the public.
