The Salem Tiger Baseball team lost to Kingston and Union in the Potosi Tournament by the scores of 4-0 and 10-0. The Tigers will be in Mountain Grove today at 4:30 for their final SCA game of the year. Salem is 10-5 on the year and 5-1 in the SCA. You can hear the game on KSMO and ksmoradio.com.

Jamie Langenbrunner and David Perron scored 45 seconds apart in the third period, boosting St. Louis to a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks in Game 5 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. Andy McDonald added an empty-net goal in the final minute. Brian Elliott turned aside 26 shots for the second-seeded Blues, who advance to the second round for the first time since the spring of 2002. The Blues will now face the eighth-seeded L.A. Kings.
Kyle Lohse tossed seven superb innings on Sunday and the St. Louis Cardinals topped the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1, in the finale of a three-game set at PNC Park. Lohse (3-0) gave up just one run on six hits without walking a batter while striking out five for the Cardinals, who took two of three games in the series. Lohse improved to 4-1 in his career in Pittsburgh and the Cardinals are 4-0 in his starts this season while outscoring opponents 14-4. David Freese had a two-run single, Rafael Furcal went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Matt Holliday also knocked in a run. The Cards start a three game series with the Chicago Cubs tonight at 6:30 and you can hear it on KSMO.
Brett Lawrie knocked in two runs during a four-run fifth inning and later stole home, as the Toronto Blue Jays held off the Kansas City Royals, 5-3. Alcides Escobar and Mike Moustakas each had an RBI for the Royals, who have lost nine straight at home - longest in franchise history - and 10 in a row overall. Danny Duffy (1-2) allowed four runs on five hits over 4 2/3 innings to take the loss. He fanned five and walked five. The Royals and Blue Jays play again tonight.
