The Salem Baseball Tigers banged out 18 hits en route to a 13-3 win over the Willow Springs Bears Monday at the SHS Baseball Field Complex. Kory Ramsey went 4-5 with 2 RBI, Jon Arzt went 3-4 with 2 RBI and Adam Ziske went 3-4 with an RBI. Kyle Lea went the distance for Salem pitching out of a bases loaded, no one out situation in the first inning without giving up a run. Salem promptly put up a seven spot in the bottom of the first and were never challenged. The Tigers are now 3-9 on the year and 1-3 in the SCA. They will host Thayer Thursday at 4:30.

Jonathan Toews scored, Corey Crawford had 34 saves and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the St. Louis Blues 2-0 Monday in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. Ryan Miller stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced in the loss. The Blues lead the series 2-1 and game four will be held on Wednesday night at 8:30.
Jenrry Mejia fired 6 2/3 scoreless innings and the New York Mets blanked the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-0, in the opener of a four-game set. Matt Carpenter, Allen Craig and Yadier Molina each had two hits to account for St. Louis' total. Tyler Lyons, who was called up prior to the game, fanned seven but allowed two runs on six hits and four walks over six frames to notch the loss. To make room for Lyons on the roster, the Cardinals optioned pitcher Jorge Rondon to Memphis. The Cardinals have dropped four of their last six games. The Cardinals and Mets play again tonight and you can hear it on KSMO Radio starting at 5:35.
Michael Brantley and Jason Kipnis both hit two-run homers to help guide the Cleveland Indians to a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals in the opener of a four-game set from Progressive Field. Omar Infante went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for Kansas City, which saw starter Jeremy Guthrie (2-1) surrender all four runs on 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings. The Royals and Indians play again tonight at 6:05.
Tulsa has named Frank Haith as its new men's basketball coach. Haith decided to leave his position at Missouri, where he guided the team to a record of 76-28 over three seasons with a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, but the Tigers missed this year's tourney.

Funeral services for Dorothy Maxine Moreland of St. James, age 83, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in St. James. Visitation will be tonight from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Meramec Hills Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. Johns Lutheran Church of St. James or the American Heart Association.
Funeral services for Dennis Lee Simpson Sr. of Cherryville, age 64, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Interment will be in the Martin-Trask Cemetery in Cherryville.
Funeral services for Marie J. Yeomans of Salem, age 92, will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation. All arrangements are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel of Salem.
