Albert Pujols belted a two-run homer for the Cardinals, but his base-running gaffe in the top of the 12th cost St. Louis a chance to go in front. The Cardinals were trying a double-steal and Pujols was already halfway down the line when he stopped. The catcher dropped the ball, but recovered to get Pujols sliding at the plate.
