The Salem Police Department released their reports involving property damage, theft, disorderly conduct and kicking on the front door of a residence. On Friday, April 10^th at 3:30 in the afternoon, an officer was detailed to Subway in reference to property damage. The report led to the arrest of a 17-year old Rolla man for disorderly conduct and property damage. He was issued summons to appear in court and released. On Saturday, April 11^th at 10:20 in the morning, an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of East Center Street in reference to a theft. The report revealed that a person or persons unknown without permission took a metal porch swing from the residence. The swing is valued at $150.00. At 7:36 that evening, an officer was detailed to First Baptist Church parking lot in reference to an individual attempting to get into cars. The investigation revealed a private citizen had detained an 18-year old Salem man for attempting to enter vehicles not belonging to him. This led to the arrest of the 18-year old for disorderly conduct and minor in possession of intoxicants. He was issued a summons and released to appear in court. On Sunday, April 12^th at 2:35 in the early morning, an officer was dispatched to the 900 block of South Pershing in reference to kicking on the front door of the residence. On arrival the subjects had left the scene and were not located. Anyone with information regarding the theft or the kicking on the front door of a residence, which are still under investigation, is asked to please contact the Salem Police Department by calling 729-4242.

Citizens in Salem & surrounding communities are organizing a TEA Party rally at the Salem City Park to let our government representatives know we are Taxed Enough Already.  TEA Party is part of a national movement to protest the spending of trillions of dollars which will increase the national debt. Over 1,500 cities are hosting TEA parties.  Please join us as we stand up for our freedom & against irresponsible spending, taxing, & bankrupting our country today at Salem City Park 4:00-6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to this event. The Dent County Fire Protection District released their reports involving a vehicle fire and a reported structure fire. On Wednesday, April 8^th at 3:40 in the afternoon, the Dent County Fire Protection District responded to a call on County Road 6150 due to a motor vehicle on fire. Upon arrival there was heavy smoke coming from a vehicle. The fire was extinguished which was believed to have started in the engine. A total of seven firefighters responded to the call. On Thursday, April 9^th at 3:09 in the afternoon, seven firefighters responded to a structure fire on East Roosevelt. Upon arrival firefighters found there were three small brush piles that were on fire, but under control

The Dent County Soil and Water Conservation District’s 48^th annual meeting will be held on Thursday, April 23^rd at the Commons Youth Building. Registration begins at 5:45 follow by dinner at 6:00. Awards will be presented at 7:00 and then State Extension Specialist in beef nutrition Justin Sexten will discuss management and supplement options for calves on pasture. The Sligo United Methodist Church Ladies will provide the meal. If you plan on attending the meeting you are asked to RSVP by Monday, April 20^th. Call Cindy at 729-4442.

An accident happened at 5:29 Monday evening at the intersection of Highway J and Grand Avenue in Salem. According to the Salem Police report, a green 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Garol Lawrence Terrill of Salem was stopped on the roadway attempting to turn left when a black 1986 Chevrolet Sierra driven by Joseph Allen Sutton and owned by David Sutton of Salem was traveling westbound and came over the crest of the hill striking a white 1999 Dodge Dakota driven by Aaron Matthew Wright of Salem causing the Dakota to strike the Cavalier. No injuries were reported at the time of the accident. All vehicles sustained extensive damages.

The Salem Tiger Golf Team was at Mountain View Tuesday and Salem finished 8 out of 9. Connor Stroburg finished with a 47 while Ben Adams shot a 51, Robbie Brooks shot a 56, and Branden Piatt rounded out the top four Salem golfers with a 57. The Golf Team will be at Cabool tomorrow at 4:00.

The Salem Baseball Tigers will be at Willow Springs this afternoon at 3:00 in a makeup game from Monday’s rainout. Salem enters the game with a 4-2 record and 1 and 0 in the SCA. You can hear the game live on ksmoradio.com and it will be repeated on a taped basis on KSMO Radio at midnight or right after the St. Louis Blues playoff game.

Eric Byrnes singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th, as the Arizona Diamondbacks edged St. Louis, 7-6, in the second of three games with the Cardinals. Colby Rasmus, Albert Pujols and Joe Thurston each had two hits and an RBI for St. Louis, whose five-game win streak was snapped. St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter left the game with a left rib cage strain. He suffered the injury while swinging during an at-bat, and summoned the team trainer after throwing warmup pitches. The Cards and Diamondbacks play this afternoon at 2:30 and you can hear the game on KSMO.

John Buck clubbed a pair of home runs, including a grand slam that broke open a close game in the eighth, handing the Royals a 9-3 victory over the Indians in the middle installment of a three- game set from Kauffman Stadium. Buck knocked in five runs while Mike Jacobs and David DeJesus contributed two hits and an RBI each in the win, Kansas City's third in a row. Kyle Davies (1-0) was able to pick up the win after giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings.

The St. Louis Blues open their playoff series with Vancouver tonight at 9:00 on KSMO Radio.

Memorial services for Joe Eldon Adams of Salem, age 58, will be held this morning at 11:00 at the Wilson Mortuary Chapel in Salem. Memorials may be made to Myrtle Adams for funeral expenses.

Funeral services for Robbie Scheider of St. James, age 29, will be held today at 1:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in St. James. Interment will be in the Adams Cemetery in rural Phelps County. Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Funeral services for Glen Lavern Bays of Viburnum, age 70, will be held Friday at 2:00 at the Wilson Mortuary in Viburnum. Visitation will be Thrusday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Interment will be in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery.

Funeral services for Willis Franlin Pierce, Sr. of Rolla, age 99, will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 Friday. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the family of Willis Pierce, Sr.
