The Dent County Sheriff’s Office released their reports. On Wednesday, April 9th, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Center and Pershing Streets. During a consent search of the vehicle, about 16 grams of marijuana was found. As a result, 22-year old Calvin Oliverfountain of Salem was arrested. During the booking process at the Dent County Jail, Oliverfountain was found in the possession of methamphetamine that was packaged for sale. Oliverfountain is currently being held in the Dent County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond. On Saturday, April 12th at around 4:00 in the afternoon, deputies with assistance from the Salem Police Department and Missouri State Highway patrol executed a search warrant in the 700 block of West Acuff. During the execution of the warrant, numerous items were located that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Also located in the residence were items related to the distribution of heroin. As a result of the items found, Quaneedra Stewart, Herbert Bartlett Jr, and Kenneth Dixon, all of Salem, were taken into custody. Stewart and Bartlett are currently being held in the Dent County Jail on charges of distribution of a controlled substance near a school and numerous charges of possession of a controlled substance. Dixon is being held on a warrant from Probation and Parole. Stewart and Bartlett are currently being held on a $200,000 cash only bond. Dixon is being held with no bond from Probation and Parole. Charges will be filed on Dixon at a later date for distribution. Later that day, deputies made contact with three male subjects in a vehicle near the intersection of Gibbs and Henderson streets during a short-term narcotics investigation. As a result of the investigation, about 30 grams of heroin packaged for sale was located. Also located in the vehicle were numerous items of drug paraphernalia and prescription pills. As a result, Christian Howard, Trenton Stacy, and Isaac Stacy, all of Salem, were taken into custody. Howard is currently being held in the Dent County Jail on charges of distribution of heroin. Both Trenton and Isaac Stacy are being held on charges of possession of a controlled substance. Howard's bond has been set at $100,000 cash only. Both Trenton and Isaac Stacy are being held on a $20,000 cash only bond each.

The City of Salem Board of Alderman will hold a Workshop, called by Mayor Gary Brown, tonight in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 202 North Washington beginning at 6:00 pm. The purpose of the Workshop will be to discuss establishing a reserve balance policy. The Workshop is open to the public.

Donna Prugh of Salem is the 2014 TMCInternational (Teen Mother Choices) Volunteer of the Year, Christa March, founder and president of the nonprofit organization, announced. Each year, more than 465,000 women in the United States will become moms before their 20th birthday. The majority will choose to parent their babies, yet they will not graduate from high school and 80 percent will seek welfare to support themselves and their child. TMCI is a solutions-based organization that provides churches and existing non-profit organizations with a proven, step-by-step training process and resources to answer the question, “Now what?” Serving parenting teenage mothers in their own communities throughout the country, the program offers coaching and support to implement results-based education, career and life skills programs that are designed to break the cycle of poverty one teen mom at a time. Prugh, a junior high school counselor, is a volunteer at the Riverways Pregnancy Resource Center in Salem, where she provides mentoring, transportation, childcare, meals and special events support, as well as a host of other services. She’s been with the program for 18 months. When Donna first heard about her local program, she stepped up to the plate and used her influence within the school system to get schools excited about assisting teen mothers. She provided transportation, meals and her expertise as a Lifeskills Workshop Speaker as practical ways to demonstrate to her commitment to answering the question. For more information about TMCI, find the organization on Facebook and visit the new website at www.tmcint.org.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the roadwork that will take place in Dent County this week. Roadway maintenance will take place on Route E between Highway 119 and Route K today through Wednesday. Roadway maintenance will take place on Route B between Highway 19 and County Road 5390 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Roadway maintenance will take place on Route P between Highway 32 and County Road 5060 today through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The Salem Tiger baseball team will be in Houston to face the Tigers at 4:30 this afternoon, HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL TOMORROW. Salem is 1-5 on the year and 0-1 in the SCA. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com.

The Salem Tiger tennis team will be in Rolla this afternoon for a match at 4:00.

Justin Abdelkader's two goals and Petr Mrazek's 23-save shutout sent the spiraling St. Louis Blues to their sixth straight regulation loss, a 3-0 setback that concluded the regular season for both clubs. The defeat locks the Blues into the 3rd seed in the Western Conference playoffs, where the Blues will take on defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago in the opening round. This series will start on Thursday.

Matt Carpenter drove in three runs to lead the St. Louis Cardinals in a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs to wrap up a three- game set. Kolten Wong, Jhonny Peralta, and Peter Bourjos all drove in a run for the Cardinals, who took the final two games of the set after dropping the opener in 11 innings. Michael Wacha (2-0) gave up three runs on five hits with a walk and eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings to win his second straight start. The Cardinals will start a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight and you can hear it on KSMO starting at 6:35.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that senior vice president and general manager John Mozeliak has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the team through the 2018 season. Mozeliak has served as the team's general manager the last six seasons (2008-2013). The 45-year-old Mozeliak has been a member of the front office since 1995.

Josmil Pinto hit a two-run home run and the Minnesota Twins scored two runs in the eighth inning to help them sweep the three-game series from the Kansas City Royals with a 4-3 decision on Sunday. Jason Vargas allowed two runs over seven innings with four strikeouts and three walks in the setback.

Graveside services for Donald (Lloyd) Grogan of Moscow Mills, Missouri, age 77, will be held this morning at 11:00 at the Green Forest Cemetery in Salem. Arrangements are under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary of Salem.

Funeral services for Evelyn Lane Brophy of Rolla, age 89, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 at the First Assembly of God Church in Rolla. Interment will be in the Hudgens Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5:00 to 8:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Memorials may be made to Kids Care America.
