The City of Salem Spring Youth Soccer Program is just around the corner. This league is for all boys and girls that are currently age 4-12 years old. The final sign-ups will be today and Friday, April 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the front lobby of the Community Center @ the Armory. The Salem Tiger baseball team will host Potosi this afternoon at 4:30 at the Salem High School Baseball Field Complex. Salem is 0-4 on the year and you can hear the game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com.
Salem Tiger track and tennis will be in action this afternoon. Salem track will host a track meet in Salem at 4:00 while Salem tennis will be in Willow Springs at 4:00.
Five hours and 25 minutes after the game was scheduled to start, Chris Heisey gave the Cincinnati Reds a walk-off win. Heisey's pinch-hit single in the ninth inning scored Ryan Ludwick to lift the Reds to a 1-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in a rain-delayed game that was dominated until the end by good pitching. St. Louis starter Michael Wacha pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out seven, walking one, and allowing three hits. Kolten Wong, Matt Carpenter, and Allen Craig collected a base hit each, the only three hits for St. Louis on the night. The Cards and Reds play at 11:00 this morning and you can hear it on KSMO.
Ian Kinsler singled home Austin Jackson for the winning run to lift the Tigers to their second straight walk-off win, as Detroit downed Kansas City, 2-1, in 10 innings at Comerica Park. Alex Gordon hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth to tie the game for Kansas City, who saw starter Jason Vargas go seven innings allowing one run while striking out six. Omar Infante finished with two hits and Salvador Perez’s double was Kansas City’s lone extra base hit. The Royals will play the Tigers again this afternoon at 12:08.
The St. Louis Blues will host the Buffalo Sabres tonight at the Scottrade Center. The Blues are 51-17-7 on the year and are one point behind Boston in the race for the Presidents' Trophy. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio starting with the pre-game show at 6:30.

Funeral services for Marilynn M. Krenning of Rolla, formerly of St. James, age 84, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in St. James. Visitation will be held from 11:30 until service time at the church. Interment will be in the St. James Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Johns Lutheran Church of St. James or the American Heart Association. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary of St. James.
Memorial services for Paula Rae Borg of Salem, age 67, will be held at a later date at the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Granite City, Illinois. Arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem.
There will be no services for Bonnie Jean Holland Rueter of Salem, age 92. Memorials may be made to the Backpack program at the Salem United Methodist Church. All arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary in Salem.
