The vicious dog ordinance  was discussed and the committee members will meet in the near future. City spring clean-up weeks are scheduled for the weeks of April 9th and 16th, and the city-wide yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th.  Alderman Bill Riley suggested getting prices to replace the city’s natural gas furnaces with electric furnaces to lower expenses. Economic Development Director Sharon Tubbs reminded the aldermen of the Business Expo scheduled for April 21st and the Town Hall Meeting on April 23rd at 7 PM in the Bank of Salem Courtesy Room. Mayor Brown reported that a request has been made to close off Rolla Road between Hickory and Pershing during the Roots Festival for a car show. The street department has been working on the new soccer field road as well as fixing potholes on city streets.
