The Dent County Commissioners held their regular meeting at the Dent County Courthouse Monday morning. At the meeting, District One Commissioner Dennis Purcell reported that grading was going to be done on Dent County Roads 6240 and 6190, and that rock was going to be added and then grading would be done to Dent County Road 6670. He said that the workers are also rewiring a pup trailer. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson said grading was going to be done on Dent County Roads 3090 and 3120, while white rock was going to be added and then grading would be done on Dent County Road 2320. He went on to say that the work crews would be putting up some signs that been knocked down, and that workers may be patching some chip and seal roads if the weather allows. Dent County Clerk Angie Curley reported that Wednesday will be the last day to get an absentee ballot mailed out, and Monday will be the last day to vote absentee. The Dent County Clerk’s Office will be open on Saturday from 8:00 AM until noon for absentee voting. Curley wanted to remind voters that Dent-Phelps R-3 and Northwood R-4 would not be

holding any elections for their school boards. Scott Schultz came by and discussed Dent County Road 6380 and he would prefer it NOT be chip and sealed for the safety of the children in the area and for the farmer’s who use the road for their implements and four wheelers. Commissioner Purcell said that speed limit signs need to be put on the road regardless if it is chip and sealed or not, and then the speed limit needs to be enforced. At the last meeting, the commission was notified that they were awarded the bid on the two-wheel drive used mower from Phelps County for $7,811. Dent County Collector Dennis Medlock came in to discuss requests for surplus money from the previous 2007 tax sale.
