Kip Wells threw four innings, allowing one unearned run on just two hits as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets, 5-4. Wells and David Eckstein both had a RBI in the second inning, and Scott Rolen added a two-run double in the sixth for St. Louis. Rick Ankiel's sacrifice fly scored Scott Spezio for the winning run in the eighth.

Pedro Feliz went 3-for-3 with a home run and knocked in three runs to lead the San Francisco Giants past the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, in preseason play. Esteban German went 4-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored for the Royals while Mark Teahen knocked in three runs. Jason Standridge took the loss, allowing one unearned run on two hits in less than an inning of work.
Eric Brewer scored 2:04 into overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 win over the struggling Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place. Petr Cajanek and Jeff Woywitka each had a goal and Radek Dvorak had a pair of assists for the Blues, who snapped a three-game slide. Curtis Sanford finished the game with 22 saves. St. Louis has won five of its last six games against Edmonton. They will face the Ottawa Senators tomorrow night at 7:00 on KSMO Radio.

The Spring High School Sports season begins today for most of the Salem Tiger Sports Teams. The Salem Boys and Girls Track Teams will be participating in the Rolla Open starting at 4:00. The Salem Golf Team will be on the road at Willow Springs starting at 4:00. The Salem Baseball Tigers start the pre-season SCA Tournament against the Willow Springs Bears today also at 4:00. KSMO Radio will NOT be carrying the pre-season tournament.
